👉 New blog post! Recently I was asked how to create a modified version of a bar chart in Tableau. My gut was saying that this would be an easy request. My gut was also dead wrong.... I ended up getting the view pulled together but it required a lot of tricks to build. Each on their own isn't too complicated. You should try to work through this visualization. I suspect you'll pick up a couple of tricks as well. Check out the link in the comments. #Tableau #dataviz #tutorial

✨ Tableau Tip Alert One thing I love about Tableau is how easy it is to experiment and learn. You can try new ideas, explore different paths, and if things don't work out you can just hit Undo. No harm done. So what happens if you find something new you like and you also want to keep the original view you started from? Here is a trick to save both views with minimal effort 1) Right click on the worksheet name and select Copy 2) Click Undo until you are back to the original view 3) Right click on the worksheet name again and select Paste Now you will have both versions, the original view and your improved view. This trick is a simple move that can save a ton of time (and frustration) when you are exploring new ideas in Tableau! #Tableau #DataFam #TableauTip #ABCU

The problem isn't your charts. It's that your dashboard doesn't answer: "What do I do next?" Before building your next dashboard ask: 1. What problem does this solve? 2. For whom? 3. What action will they take? #DataScience #BI #PowerBI #Tableau #DataStrategy #DataCulture

𝐖𝐞’𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞. You need a quick number for a meeting but the SQL query you need is buried in 3 joins and 6 tables. So you message your data team, wait half a day, and finally get an email with the answer. Now imagine this instead You type: “Show me revenue growth by region this month.” And in seconds, 𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐆𝐏𝐓 gives you the SQL and result no waiting, no syntax, no bottlenecks. Because your data should move at the speed of your questions. #QueryGPT #PowerBI #Tableau #AIinAnalytics #BusinessIntelligence #NoCode #Linkedinpost #Linkedin Softwiz Infotech

Learned a lot in Andy Kriebel's webinar "A Simpler Way to Create Gauge Charts in Tableau" as I've been navigating options to use gauges as multiple client's have requested them recently. The possibilities clicked in my head once Andy explained the concepts behind putting map layers to use in Tableau so look forward to trying it out later today. The most successful Tableau developers I’ve met are willing to practice more than anyone else, especially when no one’s watching. They rebuild dashboards they already finished. They experiment with chart types they’ve never used. They publish imperfect work to get feedback from others. They repeat what they learn, not for the result, but for the reps. It’s not about talent. It’s about repetition. If you had 30 minutes to practice Tableau today, what’s one Tableau skill you would work on? #Tableau #DataViz #Analytics #DashboardDesign #CareerGrowth #PracticeMakesProgress #NextLevelTableau

💬 Power BI Challenge of the Day 📝❓ Question You are working on a Power BI project that involves handling complex relationships with Many-to-Many connections and Bidirectional Filtering. Your task is to create a model that accurately represents this scenario and ensure the bidirectional filtering works as expected. 💡 Answer To handle Many-to-Many relationships with Bidirectional Filtering in Power BI, you need to carefully set up the relationships between tables and manage the filter direction using DAX expressions like CALCULATE and USERELATIONSHIP. ✨ Explanation When dealing with Many-to-Many relationships, it's crucial to use bridge tables to connect the two entities. Bidirectional filtering allows the relationships to flow in both directions, influencing slicers and filters from multiple tables. 🛠️ Example In this scenario, you can create a bridge table that connects the two entities with a Many-to-Many relationship. Use DAX expressions like CALCULATE and USERELATIONSHIP to control the direction of the filters and ensure the relationships work correctly in your Power BI model. #Hashtags #PowerBIChallenge #PowerInterview #LearnPowerBi #LearnSQL #TechJobs #DataAnalytics #DataScience #BigData #DataAnalyst #MachineLearning #Python #SQL #Tableau #DataVisualization #DataEngineering #ArtificialIntelligence #CloudComputing #BusinessIntelligence #Data
