Coinbase has received Financial Services Permission from the FSRA to establish its international tokenization hub in ADGM.  The important signal is not another crypto office opening. It is regulated market infrastructure being placed inside Abu Dhabi’s international financial centre.  Tokenization only moves beyond pilots when issuance, custody, distribution and investor access can operate within clear rules. Coinbase’s choice of ADGM places Abu Dhabi closer to that layer of the market.  For institutions evaluating tokenized funds, securities and other real-world assets, jurisdiction is becoming part of the product architecture.  Abu Dhabi is positioning itself accordingly.  The Key Advisory helps European founders and investors understand how UAE jurisdictions, regulation and market infrastructure affect their positioning in the region.

Flowdesk is expanding its institutional crypto business in Dubai. The Coinbase Ventures-backed firm has received a full VARA broker-dealer license, allowing its Dubai entity to provide regulated services to Qualified and Institutional Investors.

Coinbase has received Financial Services Permission from the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of ADGM to establish an international tokenization hub in Abu Dhabi. The permission allows Coinbase to arrange deals in investments and provide custody services as it prepares to launch tokenized securities. The securities are designed to be backed by underlying shares, with shareholder rights subject to conditions set out in the applicable prospectus. The development adds to Coinbase’s expansion in the UAE, where the company is developing its Abu Dhabi operations around tokenized securities and onchain capital markets alongside a separate derivatives business in Dubai. Brett Tejpaul, Co-CEO of Coinbase Institutional, said: “ADGM issued one of the world's first regulatory frameworks for virtual assets in 2018.That reflected a genuine institutional commitment to innovation-forward regulation, executed with the rigor that global financial markets require.
