Open source and marketing. Can they really go together? There’s a common belief that open source should stay “pure”: no commercial goals, no growth targets, and definitely no marketing. Open source is actually one of the most powerful forms of marketing. It builds trust, creates communities, encourages contribution, and gives projects a path to massive distribution. 📖 Check out the full blog post and learn how we think about #OpenSource, community, growth, and marketing. https://lnkd.in/e59_vuug #monitoring #Observability #traces #logs

Installing an autoblog plugin and walking away is the fastest way to destroy your search engine rankings. Automation is constantly sold as a hands-off miracle for content scaling, but raw scripts do not understand audience intent. When publishers install new tools without setting strict strategic guardrails, they inevitably flood their domains with disjointed, scraped content. This approach does not save time. It simply accelerates the path to severe organic penalties and permanently damages site authority. At Structura, we view content automation differently. We believe software should handle the heavy lifting of repetitive data curation and formatting, but it can never replace active human oversight. The most effective publishing teams use automation to empower their editors, not replace them. By combining the scale of an automated system with the quality control of a human curator, you can protect your digital assets while still competing globally. Where do you draw the line between helpful content automation and harmful scraping in your own publishing workflows? #wordpressautomation #autoblogging #contentcuration #seoguardrails #digitalpublishing https://lnkd.in/drThRyXE

What do you do when a website built with a plugin needs a rethink, but with limited budget and no scope for a major rebuild? Sarah's shared how the publishing team approached building a simpler, more practical system for the Office of the Patient Safety Commissioner's website, which we support through our GovPress service – and how we got AI to help. "We asked: What’s the smallest change that makes this site usable for its owners? Our solution was to switch to Gutenberg, the standard WordPress block editor, using AI to make the transition affordable." Read about what we did and what we learned here 👉 https://tr.ee/Q0RQQR

This week in ResearcherFlow, we focused on both product clarity and platform hardening. We improved the day-to-day research workflow by introducing note previews in list and search surfaces, adding manuscript summaries to search, and tightening detail-view behavior. We also refreshed the public product experience with a stronger showcase, clearer pricing and FAQ content, more consistent branding, and better SEO handling for public pages. Behind the scenes, we fixed integration sync-status accuracy, stabilized schema/codegen output, and closed several auth, BFF, and demo-tenancy issues identified during local review.

Bootstrapped software tends to grow slower than VC-backed products, and I'm fine with that. Optiq SEO adds features when they're genuinely useful, not when a growth target says it's time to ship something. https://lnkd.in/eazFv2fY #IndieSoftware #Bootstrapped #SoloFounder #DigitalMarketing #OptiqSEO

The landscape of writing tools is rapidly evolving. While premium products offer advanced features like tone rewriting and browser integrations, free tools now excel at core tasks like grammar and clarity checking. This shift makes advanced capabilities more accessible, especially for those who need to polish their writing efficiently without a hefty price tag. It prompts a reconsideration of whether the investment in paid tools is truly justified by the features they offer. Furthermore, the rise of open-source alternatives in areas like search and hosting challenges traditional infrastructure costs. These community-driven solutions can now run on local hardware, potentially eliminating the need for expensive subscriptions and self-hosting, a significant development for businesses and individuals alike. #WritingTools #TechTrends #OpenSource #Productivity #AIWriting

You might have noticed that when you search on Google, it gives you a written answer at the top of the page instead of just showing a list of websites. These are AI-generated answers, where Google pulls together information from different websites to help answer your question. If Google uses information from your website as part of one of those answers, it can give your business another way to be seen by potential customers. It also shows that Google has found useful information on your website that relates to what someone is searching for. So, keep creating clear, helpful content that answers the questions your customers are actually asking! #TopTipThursday #DigitalMarketing #AIOverviews #GoogleAI #GEO
