For travelers with pre-existing conditions, price is often the first factor considered when comparing visitors insurance plans. While price matters, understanding the amount of pre-existing conditions coverage they're getting matters just as much, and is often overlooked. Many travelers come to our Customer Success Team with questions about exactly how pre-existing conditions are covered in visitors insurance. They are often surprised that there is a distinction between ongoing treatment for a pre-existing condition and a sudden, acute recurrence of that condition. Without knowing this distinction, they sometimes end up with a plan that doesn't cover what they expected. So when travelers are comparing plans, the best question to ask first is, “How does this plan define and handle pre-existing conditions?” That distinction can matter far more than the premium. https://lnkd.in/gawQFyg7

When should you buy travel medical insurance? The strategic answer: as soon as you book. Coverage generally must be in place before you leave your province or Canada. Buying early reduces the chance of gaps and often broadens your plan options. It also gives time to review any pre-existing condition requirements and understand exclusions without rushing. Practical pointers: - Booked today? Get a quote today. - Leaving soon? Aim to finalize a few days before departure. - Last minute? Same-day start is often possible if completed pre-departure. - Frequent travelers: an annual multi-trip plan can be cost-effective and simpler. - Visitors on a Super Visa: secure coverage before arrival. Why it matters: emergency medical evacuations can exceed $50,000, and out-of-country hospital costs add up quickly. Solid coverage protects your budget and keeps your focus on the trip, not the bills. If you’d like a quick, objective review of your options—or to check how your credit card coverage fits—call 647-762-2223. We’re pleased to see the launch of Boost: Cancellation featured by ITIJ: International Travel & Health Insurance Journal 🙌 For brokers, arranging suitable cover for higher-value holidays can become more complicated when the cancellation limit available under a chosen Travel Insurance policy doesn’t match the full cost of the trip. Boost: Cancellation helps address that gap, allowing brokers to add supplementary cancellation protection to eligible policies - all within the existing Aneevo quotation journey. That means greater flexibility for customers, without brokers needing to source additional cover elsewhere. #ICYMI: Our latest claims data shows that trip cancellation accounted for nearly three quarters (74.1%) of the travel insurance claims we received in 2025, with trip delays, trip interruption and medical incidents also among the top reasons people filed a claim. ITIJ: International Travel & Health Insurance Journal featured these findings and explored what they may signal about how often trip plans change before departure. In the article, Scott Fleming, President of Aon Affinity Travel Practice, shares his perspective on why many travelers consider trip cancellation when purchasing travel insurance and how coverage can help support their financial investment, belongings and wellbeing when plans shift due to an unexpected illness, family emergency or other covered event. If you traveling without travel medical insurance, you may want to read this. After selling my business, I no longer had access to group insurance, which had included travel medical insurance. I did a little research and settled on an annual policy with Blue Cross which covered me for all medical issues, worldwide, all year long, for trips up to 31 days. Longer trips required an add-on. But here's the rub: each year the cost went up 10-15% and after 5 years... well, do the math! I was up to $1,200 for this year's renewal. I called an insurance broker, and inside of 30 minutes, she had researched the market and found me the same coverage with the company, TuGo. Cost: $420. Conclusion: If you assume the market is competitive or efficient, you may be paying double or worse for your travel insurance needs!

Do not assume every insurance policy or service works the same way outside the United States. International travel may involve questions about: • Rental vehicles • Personal auto coverage territories • Emergency medical expenses • Health-plan networks • Trip interruption or cancellation • Lost property • Credit-card travel benefits • Recreational activities • Personal liability Depending on the trip, protection may come from several sources: your personal policies, health plan, rental company, credit-card benefits, employer benefits, or a separate travel insurance provider. Confirm the details before departure. An assumption made at the rental counter or during an emergency can become an expensive one. Review your existing personal policies and travel benefits before leaving the country.

Before you leave on your next trip, ask yourself one question: "If something happens overseas, how am I paying for it?" Most people assume their health insurance will take care of them. The reality is that many health plans offer little or no coverage outside the U.S., and Medicare generally doesn't cover healthcare abroad. One unexpected illness or injury can turn the vacation you've spent months planning into a financial nightmare. Travel insurance isn't just about reimbursing a canceled trip. It's about having someone in your corner when you're in an unfamiliar place, facing an emergency, and just want to get home safely. I hope every client who purchases travel insurance never has to use it. But if they do, I'd much rather they have it than wish they did. One-third of travel insurance claims filed in 2024 were denied, according to Squaremouth. The trip disaster is rarely the deciding factor. Suzanne Morrow, CEO of InsureMyTrip, says the documentation gathered during the trip separates a full reimbursement from nothing at all. Clayton Eidson of AZ Health Insurance Agents has watched refunds worth thousands evaporate over forms that didn't line up. We asked insurers, adjusters and frequent travelers what belongs in a claim file, and when it has to be assembled. https://lnkd.in/gq3vPHV2 #TravelInsurance #ConsumerAdvocacy #Travel #Insurance
