MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Minnesota Star Tribune has announced the hiring of Angie Schulke as its new chief product and technology officer. She brings decades of leadership experience in engineering, product development and digital innovation across multiple industries.

Most recently Schulke held a senior leadership role at Life Time where she led a team of more than 200 engineers focused on applications, data and AI. Guiding the organization through pivotal transformations, she became known for her strategic leadership, fostering collaboration, driving innovation and ensuring operational excellence.

During her tenure, Schulke played a pivotal role in transforming the company’s digital strategy — helping transform the experience from a traditional, in-person membership model to also include a dynamic digital subscription platform that meets members and subscribers wherever they are.

“Angie is a visionary product executive who blends deep technical expertise with a strong collaborative spirit,” said Publisher Steve Grove. “Her track record of delivering results through innovation and team leadership is exactly what we need as the Minnesota Star Tribune continues to evolve as the leading digital media news organization in the Midwest.”

Schulke began her career as a software engineer and has since held leadership positions at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota and UnitedHealth Group, building a reputation for operational excellence and forward-thinking leadership. Colleagues consistently praise her ability to foster cross-functional collaboration and take on big challenges with energy and focus.

“The Minnesota Star Tribune has long been a trusted source for Minnesotans, built on a tradition of excellence in journalism,” said Schulke. “I’m excited to expand on that legacy by developing digital products that extend our reach, strengthen connections and help the Star Tribune reflect the voices and stories of communities across the state.”

With her blend of technical acumen, industry experience and passion for mission-driven work, Schulke is poised to help lead the Minnesota Star Tribune into its next chapter of growth and digital transformation.

Schulke holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science, economics and business from Augsburg University where she was a Presidential Scholar, the highest honor at the college. A proud Minnesota native, she and her husband grew up together here, built their life and raised their children here, and continue to enjoy all that the state has to offer, from music and theater to sports and nature.

She officially joined the organization on Sept. 2.
