Before the release of the movies Blade, X-Men, and Spider-Man, in the late 1990s and early 2000s, it was tough to be a Marvel fan. Outside of the comic books, there were slim pickings of other media that took Marvel characters seriously. X-Men: The Animated Series is an obvious exception, and Spider-Man: The Animated Series was fairly solid too, but they were intended for children (even if they got away with telling more mature stories). Really, only one mainstream, successful piece of media took a Marvel comic book character seriously and it's currently available on Tubi to stream entirely for free.

Ever since Return of the Jedi, everything related to Star Wars has been “pretty good” at best. The prequel trilogy seemed aimed at a younger demographic than the original trilogy, and Disney’s sequel trilogy started strong but ultimately collapsed in on itself due to both corporate and fan pressure. The Mandalorian was good for only part of its run and the same goes for The Clone Wars. (I’ll admit I haven't watched Andor, though I hear good things.)
