Ali Holton joined Poynter Institute as the Associate Director of Development. She has over 20 years in the nonprofit world where she has focused her last decade in fundraising and development at various organizations such as The Ocean Foundation, the SPCA and the United Way. Ali specializes in new business cultivation, corporate partnerships, diversifying revenue, and building relationships through passion-driven storytelling. She is excited to strengthen and support the team at Poynter.
Ali is based in Tampa Bay where she founded an Animal Rescue, writes a monthly column for a local newspaper on wildlife education and sits on various educational and advisory boards in her community.
Ali holds an MSc in Biodiversity, Wildlife and Ecosystem Health from the University of Edinburgh and a BS in Environmental Science and Policy with a focus on Marine Biology from the University of South Florida.
