About Thomas Gillett

With three years of experience in automotive journalism, Thomas is a UK-based writer and has written for a UK newspaper and Euronewsweek, covering everything from breaking industry news to the latest vehicle launches and technological innovations.

A full-time writer and lifelong engineering enthusiast, he combines technical insight with clear, engaging storytelling to explore the people, machines, and innovations shaping the automotive market.

Industry Focus

Thomas focuses on the rapidly evolving automotive industry, covering everything from performance cars and SUVs to electric vehicles, hybrid technology and the latest engineering innovations.

His work explores new vehicle launches, manufacturer developments, industry trends, reliability, ownership costs and consumer buying advice.

With a lifelong passion for engineering and motoring, Thomas enjoys breaking down complex automotive topics into engaging, accessible content for enthusiasts and everyday drivers alike.

Whether reporting on cutting-edge EV technology or the future of internal combustion engines, his writing combines technical insight with balanced analysis and a genuine enthusiasm for all things automotive.

Favorite Car

Thomas has two all-time favourite cars. The first is a car he proudly owned and enjoyed himself: a convertible 1.6-litre Mazda MX-5, a perfect example of how lightweight engineering and driver-focused design can make up for a lack of horsepower.

The second is a true automotive legend: the 1968 Ford Mustang GT 390 Fastback from Bullitt, driven by Steve McQueen and forever remembered as one of cinema’s greatest cars.

Favorite Motorcycle

Thomas has two motorcycles that stand out as personal favourites. The first is the legendary Brough Superior, often regarded as the “Rolls-Royce of motorcycles” thanks to its craftsmanship, engineering excellence, and rich heritage.

The second is the Triumph Bonneville, a modern classic that captures the spirit of British motorcycling. Thomas owns a 2010 Bonneville, a bike he appreciates for its timeless styling, characterful parallel-twin engine, and the connection between rider and machine that has made the Bonneville an icon for generations.
