William, Prince of Wales, is the heir to the British throne. The son of King Charles III and the late Princess Diana, he studied at Eton College before becoming an undergraduate at the University of St Andrews in Scotland. The subject of huge media interest, the shy prince was once considered “the most eligible bachelor in the world.”
While at University he met his wife Kate Middleton, now Catherine, Princess of Wales. They were married at Westminster Abbey on April 29, 2011. Prince William and Catherine have three children: Prince George (born 2013), Princess Charlotte (born 2015), and Prince Louis (born 2018). With William’s brother, Prince Harry, and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, resigning as working royals in 2020, and the death of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022, Prince William and his family have become the main face of the royal family.
After a career as an air ambulance pilot, Prince William became a full-time working royal. William is patron of over 30 charitable and military organizations and has particularly focused his effort on ending homelessness, inspired by the work of his mother, Princess Diana. He is also deeply involved in combating global warming. In 2020, Prince William and broadcaster David Attenborough launched the Earthshot Prize, which is awarded yearly to five individuals or organizations who create impactful solutions to address environmental challenges.
Prince William, Princess Catherine, and their children reside in Adelaide Cottage in Windsor. Their offices are at Kensington Palace in London.
