When it’s hot out, what little you put on has to make a statement – and Jennifer Lopez knows that includes a good manicure.
Of course, Lopez turned to her go-to nail artist Tom Bachik for a nail look that reflects the Euro summer she’s been having. While she’s been vacationing mostly in Italy with her family, her latest look channels the best of French-girl beauty, sitting somewhere between Brigitte Bardot’s romantic glamour and Jane Birkin’s effortless chic.
Lopez posted her look to Instagram: white ’60s-style satin lingerie with a crochet hair kerchief, which she paired with black spotted white slingback pumps, oversized black sunglasses, and a white box bag. So far, so Bardot. (The bandana has also been the celebrity hair accessory of the season, worn by everyone from Zendaya to Gracie Abrams and Dua Lipa to style and protect their hair.)
Her elegantly long, rounded-out nails (the shape and cuticles perfected with tools from Bachik’s Tweezerman collab) were a flushed, creamy pink colour – Bachik shared that he used Apré Nail’s Light & Shadow Sheer Gel Couleur in Burnt Blush. It’s a shade that fits perfectly within the current trend for barely-there manicures that feel fresh and clean: soap nails, jelly nails, and soft, natural colours. Bachik’s other star celebrity client. Selena Gomez, has also been committed to her own nude-pink set.

While vacationing all over Italy, Lopez kept to her signature glam: a bronzed and warmly contoured face, shimmery-nude eyeshadow with luxe and long lashes. When she ventured more into the countryside, though, she added some floral, colourful decals to match the la dolce vita mood.
While the French manicure will always be a chic summer nail trend, a delicate pink mani could really last you all season. It’s a versatile look that pairs just as well with a bikini on the beach as it does one of J Lo’s more outré evening looks. Growth, too, will look minimal given how natural a shade it is – so there’s no need to find a nail salon if you’re in the midst of your own Euro summer.
