Nintendo Switch 2 Controllers and Features
The Nintendo Switch 2 comes with two Joy-Con 2 controllers, plus a Joy-Con 2 Grip and Joy-Con 2 straps. They can be used in numerous configurations, but if you're looking for even more options, there are several other controllers you can use with Nintendo Switch 2. Read on for more details!

These controllers have been designed for Nintendo Switch 2.

Joy-Con 2 | Joy Con-2 controllers can be used attached to the side of the Switch 2 (handheld mode), individually or together while detached, or using a grip like the Joy-Con 2 Grip. Both Joy-Con 2 controllers have mouse sensors on the side, so they can be used on a flat surface like a mouse in compatible games. Using the new C-button on the right Joy-Con 2, you can use GameChat features, allowing you to voice chat and share gameplay with your friends. |

Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller | The Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller comes with a USB-C charging cable and also has a C-button to use with GameChat. It has GL/GR buttons which you can map to any button of your choice. It also has HD rumble 2, Motion controls, amiibo functionality, a capture button, and a stereo 3.5mm audio jack. |
Joy-Con 2 Charging Grip | The Joy-Con 2 Charging Grip comes with a USB-C charging cable and can be used with your Joy-Con 2 controllers as a controller or charging station. It also has GL/GR buttons which you can map to any button of your choice. |
Joy-Con 2 Wheel | The Joy-Con 2 wheel comes as a set of two, one light blue and one red. They're designed for racing games and have a secure magnetic connection. |
Nintendo GameCube Controller | This Nintendo GameCube Controller has been specially designed for Switch 2. It looks just like the original GameCube controller, but has a C-button and a Capture button. |
Nintendo Switch Controllers Compatible With Switch 2
These Nintendo Switch controllers can be paired with Nintendo Switch 2, however, you may need a separate accessory in order to charge them if you don't own a Nintendo Switch.
Joy-Con | Joy-Con controllers can be paired wirelessly with the Nintendo Switch 2, but can't be physically attached to the console. |
Nintendo Switch Pro Controller | The Switch Pro controller can be used wirelessly with Switch 2, and can be charged by connecting via USB cable to the Switch 2 dock. |
Nintendo Entertainment System Controller | These controllers can be paired wirelessly with the Nintendo Switch 2, but can't be physically attached to the console. You'll need to charge them using a Nintendo Switch console or other compatible accessory. They will only work with compatible games. |
Super Nintendo Entertainment System Controller | The SNES controller can be paired wirelessly with the Nintendo Switch 2, and can be charged by connecting via USB cable to the Switch 2 dock. It will only work with compatible games. |
Nintendo 64 Controller | The Nintendo 64 controller can be paired wirelessly with the Nintendo Switch 2, and can be charged by connecting via USB cable to the Switch 2 dock. It will only work with compatible games. |
SEGA Genesis Control Pad | The SEGA Genesis Control Pad can be paired wirelessly with the Nintendo Switch 2, and can be charged by connecting via USB cable to the Switch 2 dock. It will only work with compatible games. |
Nintendo GameCube Controller Adapter | You can use this accessory by connecting to the Switch 2 dock via USB. |
Unfortunately, the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con Strap, Joy-Con Grip, Joy-Con Wheel, Leg Strap, and Ring-Con are not compatible with Joy-Con 2 controllers.
