my friend is having a twilight themed birthday
I can actually answer this one! My Nana has Alzheimer’s, and one of the things Alzheimer’s patients often do is ask to go home, even if they’ve lived somewhere their entire lives and are currently there. Experts have stated that this is likely due to “home” being more of a state of mind than a physical place for dementia patients. They want to go back to a time/place where they feel safe, secure, and loved, but it evades them as their brains continue to deteriorate.
I think this can also be true of people suffering from mental disorders/illness that aren’t dementia!! You don’t want to GO home… you want to FEEL like you’re home. You want to feel safe, nurtured, loved… all the good things that come with being at home. At least, that’s what I’ve discovered about myself whenever I feel this way.
All the wattpad news just sounds like a bunch of Puritans pulled up to a whorehouse, got out and yelled "OH MY STARS HOW DID WE SHOW UP TO A HOUSE FULL OF WHORES."
Except instead of the whores laughing them off the property, they give them the option for a series of g-rated activities they can do at the whorehouse. Like horseshoes. Or knitting.
a reptile rescue i follow on instagram has announced that they are still looking to adopt out. uh. this.
um.
so this is phantom, he's a 5 foot long black dragon asian monitor lizard. he needs a minimum of a 10x6x6 feet enclosure. he's also a rescue and thus needs proper training and socialization work from the new owner.
i love him.
i doubt anyone who follows me has the means to adopt him, but he's in southern california, if anyone knows anyone to contact about taking in this big boy.
That punchline hit me like a sack of wet mice
Like a sack of what
