US high school students can add their school to their Instagram profile. After confirming they are a current student through a verification process with our trusted partner, UNiDAYS, they'll be able to display their school as a banner on their profile and choose who can see it. Once verified, students whose school is enrolled in the Instagram School Partnership Program can discover clubs and teams and see School Stories and Notes.

Students choose who can see their school on their Instagram profile. Their email address is used only for verification purposes and is never visible to others on Instagram.

Verified students, or academic staff can create a Club or Team and associate it with their school. School partners can review and remove Clubs and Teams associated with their school at any time.

Schools receive in-app notifications and emails when a new club or team account is added to their school directory, and can remove the accounts or their content at any time.

Verified school partners can access the clubs and teams directory and content shared with their school audience, such. Schools can manage or remove school-affiliated club and team accounts, as well as School Stories and Notes shared by those accounts, at any time.

The School Partnership Program does not give schools control over students’ personal Instagram accounts. Verified schools can review club and team accounts associated with their school and have the ability to remove the association between their school and those accounts or their content, including School Stories and Notes.

Students can choose who can see their school profile banner during registration and can update this visibility at any time in their settings. They can choose to make their school banner visible only to other students at their school, or to other students at their school as well as teen followers they follow back.

Please sign up with an official school or district account managed by an administrator, not a personal account or account managed by students.

Yes, if there are multiple official school or district accounts managed by an administrator representing the same school, more than one account is eligible to become a school partner.

Once you have verified your official school account, that account will be considered an Instagram school partner. The reports this account submits to Instagram will be prioritized for review. Learn more about how Meta enforces our policies here.

Using a combination of user reports and technology, we find and remove inappropriate content that goes against our Community Standards. We have teams reviewing reports 24/7 in more than 50 languages. The reports we receive from school partners will be expedited through this process, to ensure they are quickly reviewed and actioned on.

Meta’s Community Standards outline what is and isn’t allowed on Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and Threads, and we have specific policies around Bullying & Harassment and Hatespeech/Hateful Conduct. In addition, we have additional protections in place to ensure teens see age appropriate content.
