Liaqat Fayyaz posted thisAustralia’s workforce challenges demand better connections between employers, education, industry and people looking for their next opportunity. Liaqat Fayyaz shared thisGreat evening at the ACS Digital Pulse 2026 NSW Launch on Thursday. Really enjoyed hearing the perspectives from The Hon. Anoulack Chanthivong MP, Dr. Prins Ralston and John O'Mahony from Deloitte Access Economics on Australia’s digital future, AI and the workforce and skills needed to support it. A few numbers really stood out. NSW’s technology workforce is forecast to grow from 352,800 in 2025 to 428,300 by 2035, while 70% of tech worker time is expected to be impacted by AI, through automation, augmentation or entirely new tasks. But for me, the bigger message was that Australia’s digital challenge is also a workforce challenge. We need better ways to understand skills, create alternative career pathways, connect people with opportunities, mobilise talent and help employers find the capabilities they actually need. This strongly aligns with what we are building at Workinitiatives. Using AI, skills intelligence, SFIA, workforce data and better talent matching to connect employers, people, communities and opportunities across Australia. I particularly liked the theme of this year’s Digital Pulse: “For the human in the loop.” AI will transform how we work, but ultimately it is still about people, skills and opportunity. Technology should help us connect those three better. Great work by ACS (Australian Computer Society) bringing together such an important conversation. #ACSDigitalPulse #DigitalPulse2026 #FutureOfWork #AI #Skills #Workforce #Workinitiatives

Liaqat Fayyaz shared thisI am incredibly excited to congratulate Renece Brewster GAICD on officially stepping into the role of CEO at Workinitiatives 🚀 Back in late 2021, Chris and I sat down with a shared vision around building something much bigger than just another jobs platform. The goal was to create technology, partnerships and ecosystems that genuinely connect people to opportunity at scale. What started as an idea has now evolved into a rapidly growing ecosystem across jobs, migration, skills, workforce mobility and government aligned initiatives, powered by an incredible team that continues to push boundaries every day. Having worked alongside Renece for some time now I have seen firsthand the impact of her leadership, commercial mindset, operational strength and ability to bring people together. She brings a rare balance of strategy, execution and culture that will be instrumental in shaping the next phase of Workinitiatives. As Co Founder and CTO, I genuinely believe this marks a very exciting new chapter for the organisation. With Renece Brewster GAICD leading the business and Chris Carman driving partnerships and innovation globally, Workinitiatives is strongly positioned for its next phase of growth across Australia and internationally. Big things ahead 👏 #Workinitiatives #Leadership #FutureOfWorkLiaqat Fayyaz shared this🚀 Workinitiatives Going From Strength to Strength We're incredibly proud of what we've built at Workinitiatives, and today we're excited to share some significant news as we continue to grow our impact across Australia and internationally. We're thrilled to announce that our phenomenal COO, Renece Brewster GAICD Brewster, has officially stepped into the role of CEO at Workinitiatives, taking over from our amazing co-founder Chris Carman, who moves into a global leadership role as Global Head of Partnerships & Innovation, supporting our expanding international strategy and cross-border partnerships. Renece is an experienced CEO, entrepreneur, mentor, corporate advisor and passionate advocate for empowerment, particularly for women building careers in technology. Renece shared: "If you'd told me twelve months ago I'd be stepping into a CEO role again, I probably wouldn't have believed you. But when the mission is connecting people to real skills and real opportunity at scale, work that genuinely changes lives, it's not really a decision at all. I'm proud to be leading Workinitiatives, and I'm even prouder of what we continue to build." Renece previously co-founded Visual Domain, building it from the ground up to become Australia's largest in-house production company before its successful sale to News Corp in March 2024. For more than a decade she has supported women in tech through Girls in Tech and Her Tech Circle, positively impacting women across the sector. Renece originally joined Workinitiatives as a board advisor before stepping into the role of fractional COO. Much of the culture, momentum, growth and impact we've achieved over the past 18 months is a direct reflection of her leadership, vision and commitment. This appointment is a natural progression, and we couldn't be more excited for what lies ahead. Chris shared: "We are having a CEO upgrade! It fills me with immense pride and genuine excitement that Renece accepted my offer to lead the organisation. I have known Renece for many years and she is an amazing operator, financially astute, strategically minded, commercially sharp, and someone who brings phenomenal energy to everything she does. We have developed an amazing team, a superb solution and an incredible culture filled with passion and purpose, and I honestly couldn't think of anyone better to lead us through the next stage of growth." In his new role, Chris will work alongside government, industry and community stakeholders across Australia and internationally, driving innovation, product and ecosystem development alongside CTO & Co-Founder Liaqat Fayyaz. This next chapter is an exciting evolution as we continue our mission to solve workforce challenges through technology, collaboration and meaningful partnerships - connecting people, jobs, skills and opportunity. Same mission. Same passion. Same team. We’re continuing our mission to power Australia’s future workforce and we can’t wait to see what the future holds. 👏

Liaqat Fayyaz reposted thisLiaqat Fayyaz reposted thisSolving NSW’s Skills Crisis Together, With Community at the Centre Yesterday I had the opportunity to meet with the Hon. Steve Whan MP Minister for Skills, TAFE and Tertiary Education and the Hon. Courtney Houssos Minister for Finance, Natural Resources, Domestic Manufacturing and Government Procurement, discuss what Workinitiatives is doing to support the existing stakeholders in the NSW employment ecosystem to meet the skills crisis and discuss some of the major challenges in NSW and Australia. Thank you both for your time, engagement, and commitment to tackling one of the biggest challenges facing our state. We’re incredibly excited about the rollout of community-controlled jobs, skills and economic development platforms across NSW, working alongside the incredible stakeholders already embedded in the local employment ecosystem. This is about more than just jobs, it’s about: Bridging the gap between education and employment Helping the existing workforce navigate new opportunities Supporting workers transitioning between industries and careers Empowering organisations driving inclusion for diverse and underrepresented communities Creating structured, ethical pathways to international talent, complementing (not replacing) the Australian workforce All while ensuring we uphold the highest standards of safety, quality, fairness, and integrity, with zero tolerance for exploitation and a clear priority on opportunities for Australians. Through Workinitiatives, we’ve built the enabling infrastructure to bring this all together across every region, every industry, and every community in Australia and now beyond. This is a collaborative model, it’s industry and community-led and designed to ensure no one is left behind. The momentum is building and this is just the beginning. This Saturday, I’ll be joining the Canadian Undergraduate Technology Conference (CUTC) for the Virtual Edition of CUTC 2026: TRANSFORM. I’m particularly looking forward to moderating a conversation I think is incredibly relevant right now: "Human Skills in the Age of AI." AI is changing how we work, build, solve problems and create value. At the same time, the ability to communicate, collaborate, build relationships, understand people, lead teams and bring different perspectives together is becoming increasingly important. For this conversation, Startup Ecosystem Canada have carefully selected three people who each bring a very different perspective to what it means to stand out in a technology-driven world: Jeffrey To | Front Row Ventures Tanjin Sultana | Coral Drishti Kothari 🍋🟩 | McGill University PSSG I cannot wait to chat with these three. We’ll be talking about the human skills that help people solve problems, build teams, collaborate and create value as technology continues to evolve. This won’t just be a conversation you sit and listen to. Students, builders, researchers, designers and future founders from across Canada and beyond will be able to ask questions live, meet other ambitious people, join small-group conversations, participate in activities and challenges, and hear from people working across startups, engineering, AI, research and technology. This is just one part of the day. There will be a whole bunch of exceptional talent joining from across startups, technology, AI, engineering and research, including Harley Finkelstein from Shopify, Tim Bray and Frank Tompa from OpenText, and Dr. Marily Nika, Ph.D from Google. I love seeing opportunities created for ambitious people to get in the room, or in this case, the virtual room, with people who are building what comes next. Liaqat Fayyaz liked thisLiaqat Fayyaz liked this🌟 Staff Spotlight - Haseeb Ahmad, Lead Solutions Architect Behind the platforms, integrations and technical architecture that power Workinitiatives sits Haseeb Ahmad. As our Lead Solutions Architect, Haseeb is the person making sure our systems are built to scale, and that technology is working as hard as possible to solve Australia's skills crisis. We sat down with him to hear how he sees the challenges, the opportunities, and what advice he'd give to anyone navigating a world increasingly shaped by AI. 🟣 If you had to explain what Workinitiatives actually does to someone at a barbecue, what would you say? Workinitiatives is building the infrastructure behind a smarter workforce. We bring together people, employers, technology, data and different platforms to solve the gap between available skills and market demand. Whether the right talent is already in Australia or needs to come from overseas, the goal is simple: understand what the market needs and help put the right, job-ready person in the right place. 🟣 Describe your role as Lead Solutions Architect at Workinitiatives. I'm responsible for looking at the bigger technical picture, how our systems, platforms, data and integrations work together, and how we can build them to scale. I work closely with the business to understand the problem, design the solution and then work with the engineering team to make it happen. I'm also particularly interested in how AI can help us automate processes, make better use of data and solve some of the gaps between workforce demand and available skills. 🟣 What's the biggest misconception people have about the workforce challenges Workinitiatives is trying to solve? I think people often see workforce challenges as a numbers problem, more jobs or more people. I see it more as a matching and information problem. The market is constantly changing, skills are changing, and employers don't always have access to the right talent when they need it. There is a huge opportunity to use better technology, data and AI to understand those gaps and respond to them much faster. 🟣 What's one piece of advice you'd give someone starting out in tech? Understand technology instead of being afraid of it. You don't need to become a developer, but understanding how technology, data and now AI work will make you much more effective. Most importantly, stay curious, ask questions and learn how the thing you're communicating actually works.

He was only 56. He was a professor, a homeopathic doctor, a poet, an imam, a Quran teacher, a loving father, and a very kind-hearted human being. Whatever I am today, after Allah's will and mercy, I am because of my father: his guidance, his teaching, his love, and the "maar" that kept me on the straight path, in this world and in my deen. May Allah grant him, my dear mother, and all the departed believers the highest place in al-Firdaus (the highest heaven), and keep us on the right path. Aameen. This week on Show n’ Sell, Matt is spotlighting the IP-COM Australia ICMPRO-7-LR Wi-Fi 7 Long Range Access Point – designed for strong coverage, high speeds, and growing network demand. "Heard of something called future proofing? The ICMPRO-7-LR is a solid unit when you just need Wi-Fi that reaches properly whilst maintaining speed. It handles high device counts and with the Wi-Fi 7 onboard, it’s a no-brainer" The ICMPRO-7-LR delivers next-gen Wi-Fi 7 performance with long-range coverage and multi-gig capability, making it a smart option for commercial sites where device counts and bandwidth keep increasing. As more installs include IP cameras, cloud services, VoIP systems, access control and guest Wi-Fi all on the same network, upgrading to Wi-Fi 7 helps future-proof the install. Higher throughput and improved efficiency mean the network won’t become bottlenecked in a few years’ time. Longer reach can mean fewer APs when designed correctly, keeping installs clean and controlled. Pair it with an IP-COM PoE switching for simple deployment and centralised management. If you’re quoting new builds or network upgrades, this is a solid way to future-proof the job and avoid return visits for performance complaints.
