Prasoon Sinha reacted on thisBack in January, IBM offered me what looked like a great opportunity: a role in Sydney. The catch was the timeframe. Less than four weeks to permanently move my whole life across the country with massive disruption to the family. I thought about it properly, and in the end, I chose my family which meant staying in Adelaide. That decision meant my role was made redundant, and my last day at IBM was back in February, capping 11 years working at an amazing company with amazing people. What I learned and experienced at IBM will be with me forever. I won't pretend I had it all figured out walking out the door. But the four months since turned out to be exactly what I needed. I destressed. I refocused on the things that actually matter. Started a new social basketball team (The Adelaide 30 Stitches https://lnkd.in/gnFih7zc) - And I finally spent real time learning new tools and technologies I'd been meaning to get across for years. About a month ago, I got serious about what came next. I did the usual rounds with my network, Seek & LinkedIn. I had some good interviews. I also had a few "thanks, but no thanks" for roles where I didn't know a soul on the other side. Even where I had interviews, time was really dragging. That's part of it. Then just over two weeks ago, someone I'd worked alongside for years reached out about a role they'd heard about and thought it might right for me. Based right here in Adelaide. What happened next still makes me smile. That was a Friday, late morning. By late afternoon, the role looked even better than first described. The following Wednesday, a conversation with the CEO confirmed we were aligned on direction. Friday, the offer was confirmed. By Monday, I'd committed in writing. So... yesterday, Wednesday July 1st, I started as a Client Solution Executive at Advent One. And wow - am I excited about this. It's a role that sits right where I like to be, between a client's real-world problems and the technology that can actually solve them. After more than a decade in technical sales, that's still the part that gets me. Understanding what someone truly needs, then bringing the right people and the right solution to make it happen. There's a nice symmetry to it, too. As an experienced IBM partner, Advent One means I still get to work closely with my old team at IBM. Familiar faces, just from the other side of the table. And while I'll mostly be based in Adelaide, I'll be looking after WA, QLD and other key strategic accounts further afield. The best of both worlds with home base here, but plenty of reach. In 2025, our company invested in expanding our portfolio of services, strengthening our capabilities and the customer value we offer clients in South Australia (and beyond) by merging with Resilient Asia Pacific. This acquisition gave us Ravi Athukorala, Samitha Eshan Jayatillake and Alistair Buchanan, who have each contributed deep technical eminence in addition to being terrific teammates.
