1. I am really hoping you will be able to digitize the New Haven register and the New Haven Journal courier. I believe these are available at the Yale University library/archives. They may be available at the New Haven Museum or the state archives. Yale may be the first and best choice and perhaps they will have other suggestions as to locations. Thank you for your consideration of this request.

   1. I completely agree. If available, these newspapers would add a crucial component to what was once a major industrial and immigrant town with deep roots in Connecticut’s history.

2. I checked for the new newspapers today, and it’s more newspapers from Suriname. I could cry.

   I’ve been waiting for public domain newspapers from New York City and Chicago for over a decade. How could the technology not work for New York City and Chicago, but work for Suriname? What on earth could be the problem that leaves me waiting until the end of time?

   Good job on the Netherlands newspapers, I guess.

10. I second the Philadelphia Bulletin. It has been claimed that the term “Black Friday” (day after Thanksgiving shopping) originated in the Philadelphia Bulletin, about 1960. I inter-library loaned it and didn’t find it, but it sure would be nice to have the Bulletin online. Thanks to Newspapers.com, I’ve tracked “hogie” to 1940 (see clippings), but without an online Philadelphia Bulletin, researching foods such as “hoagie” and “cheesesteak” is much more difficult.

    All new additions to Newspapers.com are appreciated, even from Suriname and Indonesia and the Netherlands as they’ve done lately, but a major newspaper like the Philadelphia Bulletin (or the Chicago Daily Journal or the New York Morning Telegraph) from a major American city still sitting around gathering dust and not being searchable is not good for historians like me. It’s been a long wait, with no signs of ending.

11. There are still microfilm copies of the Willimantic Chronicle in the Eastern CONN or UCONN libraries, I’d love to see that once-excellent newspaper on newspapers.com

14. Any chance you can get the Milwaukee Journal and Milwaukee Sentinel? Or fill in the gaps from the early 1900s to 1964 for the Fond du Lac Reporter?

    Beloit Daily News would be another great paper to add.

18. Love to see foreign newspapers added like Suriname and the Netherlands! If ever possible, would love to see papers from European countries like Bosnia (Oslobođenje particularly), Italy, and Germany, as well as more from Latin America.

19. Still waiting to see the Shenandoah Iowa newspapers—Shenandoah Sentinel, Shenandoah Post and Shenandoah Sentinel-Post.

20. How about adding the Louisville Kentucky “Courier Journal and Louisville Times”. The Courier Journal was an award winning newspaper in its day and had an award winning editorial cartoonist Hugh Haynie. They did extensive investigative reporting as well as disasters such at the 1936 flood and the 1974 mega tornado outbreak. It was well regarded until Gannet assimilated it.

    Several of the citations are inaccurate:

    Sun Sailor (Hopkins ed.) should be St Louis Park/Hopkins edition.
    Sun Sailor (Minnetonka/Excelsior ed.) should be Minnetonka/Excelsior/Eden Prairie
    Sun-Current (Bloomington ed.) should be Bloomington/Richfield
    Sun-Post (Brooklyn Center ed.) should be Brooklyn Park/Brooklyn Center
    Sun-Post (Crystal ed.) should be Crystal/Robbinsdale/New Hope/Golden Valley

23. Now that things are back to normal…. the Independent Tribune of Concord, NC needs some attention. That paper has not been updated in years. Y’all may consider getting in touch with the Cabarrus County Public Library, as they have several years of the Concord Tribune, The Daily Independent and the Independent Tribune on microfilm at the Lore Room. Hopefully the suits at Lee Enterprises would allow for it.

    1. Hello, we are in the process of working with the publisher to digitize titles with large gaps. The Independent Tribune falls into that category because there were very large gaps in the microfilm. We hope to fix that in the future.

24. Mosinee Wisconsin has a full run of their paper back to the 1870’s on microfilm at the current paper and at the Deserrt library.

25. The Los Angeles Daily Journal and the Los Angeles Journal cannot be accessed. Can anyone fix this?
