Eric Nuttall shared thisIt was a privilege to be the final interview guest of Andrew Bell's storied 25 year long career at BNN, fittingly covering the biggest energy crisis of our lifetimes: https://lnkd.in/et3q6gKTAre we experiencing the biggest energy crisis in history? Are we experiencing the biggest energy crisis in history?
-
Eric Nuttall shared this“Fake news" is suppressing the price of oil which in the end only leads to a sharper rise as the market is not giving the necessary pricing signal to help offset what is the biggest production loss in history.

Eric Nuttall liked thisEric Nuttall liked thisNoteworthy- This is where our country could be. You need to seriously ask yourself, why are we not the beneficiaries of a “Sovereign Wealth Fund”? I understand that the provinces hold the keys. That said, if we had a true “Canada first” leadership team running this country, they would find a way to making our natural resources available to the world in a responsible profitable manner- like Norway does. This is responsible investing and when out to work benefis the entire country. All the while lining the Federal tax coffers. But instead the reverse continues. Drain Canadians of every nickel they have all the while doing nothing for them- nothing. Canada is now a cesspool of corruption.

Physical commodities and producers are not the same trade. Bipan Rai, Head of ETF & Alternatives Strategy at BMO Global Asset Management, highlights an important distinction: Owning the physical commodity is very different from owning a miner or producer. Producers carry idiosyncratic risk — permits, capital allocation, execution, operational issues. That makes them a higher-beta play on the underlying commodity. When gold surged more than 65% last year, miners outperformed. But in down years, that leverage works in reverse. The takeaway: producers can amplify returns — in both directions. Investors need to understand that added layer of risk when positioning commodities in a portfolio. #Commodities #Gold #PortfolioConstruction #ETFs #AssetAllocation

Analysts Reinitiate Coverage Following Silver Co.’s Major Acquisition Closure BMO Capital Markets has reinstated its coverage of Pan American Silver Corp. (PAAS:TSX, PAAS:NYSE) after completing the acquisition of MAG Silver Corp. (MAG:TSX, MAG:NYSE American). In a research update dated September 4, analyst Matthew Murphy examined how the transaction will affect Pan American’s silver output, cost structure and cash-generation. Key Takeaways • Juanicipio expansion: By adding MAG’s Juanicipio mine, Pan American’s annual silver production will rise by roughly 5 Moz (a 22% uplift). Juanicipio already ranks as the world’s largest, lowest-cost primary silver mine, with anticipated all-in sustaining costs (AISC) of US$6–8/oz in 2025. At today’s metal prices, Juanicipio could deliver nearly US$100 million in free cash flow in Q4 2025—US$43 million attributable to Pan American—equating to about US$400 million per year (US$170 million to Pan American). • Cost reductions and reserve enhancements: Incorporating Juanicipio trims Pan American’s 2026 silver AISC estimate from US$10.50/oz to approximately US$9.10/oz. The deal also brings in 58 Moz of attributable silver reserves, along with 54 Moz of measured, indicated and inferred resources, and notable exploration potential at the largely untested Valdecanas vein system. • Additional catalysts: Pan American is advancing optimization studies at its Jacobina mine and is searching for joint-venture partners for La Colorada Skarn. A revival of the Escobal mine depends on resolving community issues. • Cash-flow projections: Based on spot prices, Pan American’s 2026/27 free cash-flow yields stand at 8.5%/11.8%, exceeding gold-industry averages of 7.9%/8.9%. Free cash flow is forecast to climb to almost US$2 billion by 2028. • Valuation & rating: Murphy lifted his 12-month target price to CA$45 (previous target not disclosed) and maintained a Market Perform rating, citing limited upside from current levels. His valuation approach equally weights a 1.5× price-to-net-asset-value multiple (with a 5% discount rate) and a 10.0× price-to-cash-flow multiple. Murphy concluded that acquiring MAG Silver is a “sensible add” that bolsters Pan American’s production scale, cost profile and cash-generation, though the stock’s upside remains constrained. 📊 Market Context & Insight Gold market dynamics in Malaysia are driven by the Malaysian Ringgit’s movements, Bank Negara Malaysia’s monetary policy, inflation trends, and global gold price shifts. Domestic demand is further influenced by cultural practices, jewelry buying patterns, and investment interest among Malaysian consumers and corporations. 💡 What This Means for Malaysian Investors In Malaysia, gold often serves as a hedge against currency swings, inflation and global instability. Investors typically diversify their holdings through physical gold jewelry, gold bars, Gold Investment Accounts (GIAs) offered by local banks like Maybank and C...

💭 https://go.td.com/468M2UL It’s been quite the year for Canadian stocks, with the TSX Composite Index up roughly 13% year-to-date. Michael O’Brien, Managing Director and Co-Head of Canadian Equity Portfolio Management at TD Asset Management, says the market’s performance has been impressive, but that there are a number of big picture uncertainties investors should keep in mind going forward.

Rebecca Teltscher, CFA, portfolio manager at Newhaven Asset Management Inc., is steering through market turbulence with clarity and conviction. Here's her May 2025 watchlist: ➡️ Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL) ($CNQ): The largest oil producer in Canada, known for low-cost operations, premium long-life assets, and a robust 5.5% dividend. Scott Stauth. ➡️ K-Bro Linen Systems ($KBL): Canada's top laundry and linen processor with exposure to healthcare and hospitality. Stable cash flows and potential for strategic M&A in a fragmented sector. Linda McCurdy. ➡️ Pembina Pipeline Corporation ($PPL): Fee-based earnings, LNG projects like Cedar LNG, and resilience in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. Recently raised dividends despite macro noise. Scott Burrows. 🔍 Teltscher’s view contrasts sharply with the broader market narrative fueled by short-term optimism around U.S.-China trade relief. As DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency) slows U.S. spending and Canada faces GDP contraction, her strategy is grounded in cash flow and consistency. 📰 Originally published via BNN Bloomberg. #RebeccaTeltscher #NewhavenAssetManagement #CanadianNaturalResources #KBroLinen #PembinaPipelines #Dividends #CedarLNG #DOGE #TSX #Investing #BNNBloomberg #OilAndGas #Healthcare #Infrastructure #CanadaMarkets #USeconomy #LNG #LongTermInvesting 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gWJz6DJF

A roadmap for critical minerals development in Canada Today, we publish a vision to accelerate the development of critical minerals: Canada - from resource-rich to resource ready. Canada has an abundance of the very resources the world needs but is punching below its weight. Encouragingly, the federal government recognizes the urgency and opportunity of the moment and is taking steps in the right direction. But Success, however, is dependent on translating commitments into action. accelerated execution. We therefore provide a focused roadmap - From our research of 10,000 mining projects across the country, we identify seven strategic project clusters where coordinated investment and government action can quickly unlock substantial economic activity: Why are we publishing this? Traditional market forces alone will not secure Canada’s leadership. Unlocking Canada’s full potential requires targeted government action, including strategic investment, community consultation and regulatory efficiency, and urgency. The path forward is not about chasing perfection — it is about doing what Canada does best: acting with pragmatism, fairness, and purpose. Mackenzie’s Resource Team is ready to work with government and business to accelerate this vision for Canada. Are you ready to join us? ⛏️
