Vehicles

A mobile patriotic show! The Parade welcomes businesses, Chambers of Commerce, Neighborhood Councils, Community Organizations, to enter a vehicle. If you are a business, think about reaching out to a non-profit group to sponsor their vehicle!

MUSIC

Brings a parade to life! Bands or choral groups may either march or ride. Help us with the music and reach out to your school, church, military and community organizations with bands. The music, whether vocal or instrumental, must be patriotic and consistent with the USA parade theme.

PEOPLE

Our pride is shown with every participant. People young and old, marching or riding in the parade as a fitting tribute to the families who have sacrificed their loss for our freedom! Groups will have an opportunity to do a short performance during pre-planned parade stops along the parade route.

Grand Marshal

RDML Dave Barnes, U.S. Navy

Rear Admiral Dave Barnes grew up in the West San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles, California.  With friends and family sprinkled around Canoga Park, Chatsworth, Granada Hills, and Northridge, he considers this area his forever “home”.  Moving to San Diego in the 1980s, RDML Barnes earned a Bachelor of Arts from Point Loma Nazarene College, and was commissioned through the University of San Diego Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) program.  His further academic pursuits include a Master of Business Administration from the University of Southern California, and a Master of Arts in International Relations and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College.
 
He completed flight school in 1995 with Training Squadron TEN and the 562nd Flight Training Squadron, he then flew as a Naval Flight Officer with Fleet Reconnaissance Squadron THREE in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He affiliated with the Navy Reserve in 2001.
 
During his 24 years in the Navy Reserve, he has enjoyed six Commanding Officer tours including Commander Naval Air Wings Pacific, Fleet Combat Training Center Pacific, Special Operations Command Pacific, Naval Forces Europe / Africa / U.S. SIXTH Fleet Maritime Partnership Program Detachment 130 in Naples, Italy, U.S. Indo-Pacific Detachment 701, and Commander Naval Information Warfare Systems Command Reserve Program.
 
His reserve staff assignments include Commander THIRD Fleet Joint Forces Air Component Command, direct report to Commander Naval Special Warfare Command, and the Naval Special Warfare Advanced Training Command. He served as Executive Officer of Commander THIRD Fleet Headquarters, and the Global Network Operational Security Command. He also served the Deputy Commander, Navy Reserve Region Readiness and Mobilization Command Fort Worth (REDCOM FTW). He was mobilized to Al Dafra Air Base, United Arab Emirates as Officer In Charge of the Broad Area Maritime Surveillance unmanned aerial vehicle detachment, and to Commander Naval Surfaces Forces, U.S. Pacific Fleet.
 
His awards include three Legion of Merit, two Defense Meritorious Service, three Meritorious Service Medals, and six Navy Commendation Medals, along with various personal and campaign medals including several teams that earned the Meritorious Unit Commendation.  He accumulated over 1500 hours in military aircraft.  In his civilian career, RDML Barnes is currently a pilot for United Airlines based in Southern California.
