From Wikimedia Commons, the free media repository
Concept of a spreadsheet generating XML code for an SVG file.
For background understanding: this diagram shows an example of the approach used in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets to automatically generate SVG code for many of the charts in this category.

Files in this category are completely or substantially comprised of SVG code that has been automatically created by a spreadsheet program—as distinguished from files generated using a specialized SVG tool such as Inkscape.

  • A first set of spreadsheet files (for various types of charts) is listed here. Users enter or paste their data into a spreadsheet file, which automatically generates the XML code so that the users do not need to be familiar with the details of XML, SVG, Inkscape, etc. Users specify margins, axis legends, gridlines, etc., and then copy and paste the automatically generated SVG code to an .svg file.
  • Detailed "how to" information for this first set is provided here.

Files are not excluded from this category if the spreadsheet-generated code is subsequently changed or supplemented, either by hand or with Inkscape etc. It is sufficient that a substantial portion of the XML code was automatically generated by the spreadsheet.
