Alexa West A'17

Choreographer Alexa West was granted the Kravis Studio Residency at the Museum of Modern Art along with her other co-founders of Pageant, an artist-run performance space. The group developed and presented a daylong performance marathon and engaged in a panel on August 30. Read more about the residency and Alexa's work.

Robert Feintuch A'74

A solo exhibit of Robert Feintuch's work will be opening at Thomas Brambilla Gallery in Bergamo, Italy on October 3, 2026. He also has three paintings on permanent view in the Sonnabend Collection Museum in Mantova, Italy.

Diane Phares A'73

Diane Phares is being featured in Create! Magazine's 10th Anniversary Book looking back at artists' careers since they were first featured. Diane has continued to make art that transforms personal narratives into conversations about social equity and the unseen forces that shape domestic life. Create! Magazine's 10th Anniversary Book will be releasing in fall of 2026. Read more about Diane's work here.

In July 2026, five Engineering alumni met each other for a meal: Dan Schwartz EE'76, Robert Buxbaum ChE'76, Barbara Waldman Stancato ChE'76, Dan Dworkin ChE'76, and Tony Hom ChE'76.

  • Founded by inventor, industrialist and philanthropist Peter Cooper in 1859, The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art offers education in art, architecture and engineering, as well as courses in the humanities and social sciences.

  • “My feelings, my desires, my hopes, embrace humanity throughout the world,” Peter Cooper proclaimed in a speech in 1853. He looked forward to a time when, “knowledge shall cover the earth as waters cover the great deep.”

  • From its beginnings, Cooper Union was a unique institution, dedicated to founder Peter Cooper's proposition that education is the key not only to personal prosperity but to civic virtue and harmony.
