Nicolas Boucher hat dies geteiltGreat question. As i’ve been through that myself, here is what i answered (feel free to add yours in the comments): I had to the same situation when i took over a team of 10 where 3 people went to retirement within 3 months. We actually ended up doing more and serve better the business by doing these things: 1) Some people were doing the same work (for example extracting info from a contract) but for different processes. We stopped all the duplicates tasks by just communicating better on who does what 2) Materiality: as an ex auditor, i started to teach the team to not go after every $100 difference while they were leaving the 1m$ unchecked because it was too complex for them 3) Reduce the amount of reporting. Some of our reports where so detailed because of legacy and history (people in the past asking for a few weeks additional details and it stayed). So i asked everybody to check with their business partner: Why do you need this When do you really need it What do you really need inside What happen if you don’t get it 4) Cover the *ss of your team if they are late. If we couldn’t deliver i told everybody to send the people complaining about it to me. Then i was checking what they really need from us. And sometimes it was just a confirmation or a small info, not a big report. Being late or not delivering helps you get faster reality checks on what the business really needs. 5) Upskill ur team. So many processes are taking so long because people don’t know the fastest way to get there using the right erp export or the right excel trick. Pushing the bar there can accelerate part of the work once you have done 1, 2, 3 and 4 !

Nicolas Boucher hat dies geteilt10 steps to master Claude for finance Learn more about Claude for Finance live today: https://lnkd.in/ehFCJSmR Every extra turn costs you money now. Before: 10 messages in, bill goes up, results stay flat, and you're editing everything by hand anyway. After: 2 messages and you have a deliverable your CFO can present. Here is the 10-step system: 1. Pick one expensive finance task 2. Open a new chat 3. Select Fable 5 → High 4. Open your Project 5. Type the goal, not the task 6. Add "ask me questions before you start" 7. Add "show reasoning before the answer" 8. Send it and answer its questions 9. Let it work, don't interrupt 10. Stop after 2 messages If it needs a third message, your prompt was wrong. Fix it. Don't keep stacking corrections. The before and after is in the infographic below ⬇️ Get the full Claude Finance Playbook 👉 https://lnkd.in/ehFCJSmR ♻️ Repost if your Claude bill is going up but your results aren't

Nicolas Boucher hat dies geteilt30 minutes to set up Claude Cowork for finance I will teach you exactly how to set up yours live tomorrow: https://lnkd.in/ewzKdtva Claude Cowork is the most powerful feature most finance teams have never opened. It reads your files, builds spreadsheets, and completes multi-step tasks on your computer. But only if you set it up right. Here is what 30 minutes looks like: 0-5 min: Install and open Cowork Download the app. Sign in. Click Cowork tab. Type /setup-cowork. Claude walks you through it. 5-10 min: Set up your finance folders Create a "Finance-Cowork" folder. Add Monthly-Close, Budget, Board-Prep subfolders. Drop in your GL template and report files. 10-15 min: Connect your tools Google Drive for spreadsheets. Gmail for email context. Two connectors. That's enough. 15-20 min: Run your first finance task "I want a variance analysis for May. The files are in my Monthly-Close folder. Flag anything above 5% or $50K. Ask me questions before you start." 20-25 min: Iterate on the result "Add a summary tab with KPI tiles." "Move the commentary to the top." "Flag the three largest drivers in bold." 25-30 min: Create a real deliverable "Build a monthly close package. Variance bridge. Executive summary. CFO talking points for Tuesday. Save to my Google Drive." For finance: start with Plan mode. Move to Auto after the second month. Never use Bypass on sensitive data. Nicolas Boucher hat dies geteiltI type four words and my AI CFO clone builds my entire cockpit Here is exactly how to build yours, live tomorrow: https://lnkd.in/ey3QFXyP I type "how is my day" and my clone goes through my company data, my emails, and my files, then builds a full CFO cockpit The task that used to take an hour every morning now takes the time it takes me to pour a coffee I've taught thousands of finance professionals how to use AI for finance, and this is the exact build Here's the process: 1: Build the foundation - Create a master folder in Google Drive, OneDrive, or connect your accounting system directly - Add the files behind the metrics you check every morning, for me that's the general ledger, daily sales, and daily AR 2: Give Claude context on you - Export your LinkedIn profile to PDF, this is what gives the clone your voice of experience instead of sounding like any generic finance person - Ask Claude to build a company snapshot from your company website, covering clients, market, headcount, and locations - Feed it representative emails and ask it to describe your writing style, then correct it back and forth until it's actually you, dollars vs euros, bullet points or not, tone and length - Once it's dialed in, ask Claude to turn that into one detailed style document you can reuse 3: Turn the context into a project - Create a new Claude project and add your three context files, LinkedIn export, company snapshot, and style guide - Only after Claude has seen all of that do you ask it to write the project instructions, otherwise it starts guessing about you and your company, which is the last thing you want in finance 4: Connect your real data - Connect the Google Drive connector so Claude can actually read your folder - Ask it to build your daily dashboard from that folder, and to scan your inbox for the last 24 hours of emails - Refine it with follow-up prompts until the layout, order, and details match how you actually want to start your day 5: Turn it into a Skill - Once the cockpit is right, ask Claude to turn the whole workflow into a Skill - Save it, and it's now available everywhere in Claude 6: Automate the trigger - Add one line to your project instructions: if the user asks "how is my day," launch that Skill - From then on, four words is all it takes I teach this exact build, plus many other use cases, every Tuesday in my free AI CFO Masterclass Join here 👉 https://lnkd.in/ey3QFXyP 💬 What would be the first thing you'd want your AI CFO clone to check every morning? 🔁 Repost if your team could use a daily cockpit like this

Nicolas Boucher hat dies geteilt4 levels of Excel mastery with AI and most finance teams are stuck on level 1 Learn AI for Excel in my free masterclass tomorrow: https://lnkd.in/eaPA-W8P Most finance professionals use AI in Excel one way: type a question, get an answer, copy it into a cell. That is level zero. Here are the real 4 levels: Level 1: Let AI build it for you Open Claude Cowork. Describe the deliverable. Budget model, variance bridge, KPI dashboard. Claude builds the full workbook from scratch. Tabs, formulas, formatting, charts. One prompt. Level 2: Edit existing files with AI Open your file in Google Sheets. Install ChatGPT (free, official OpenAI add-on). Use @ to reference any tab: "Summarize @P&L in 5 bullets" "Raise growth rate 2% in @Assumptions" Level 3: Iterate like a finance pro Stay in Cowork for structural changes. "Add a Dashboard tab with KPI tiles." "Add Base, Bull, Bear scenarios." The magic line: "List 10 assumptions before executing." Claude shows its logic. You approve. Then it builds. Level 4: Pick the right tool for the job Claude Cowork for building from scratch. ChatGPT in Sheets for editing existing files. Copilot for M365-native teams. Claude in Excel for analysis without upload-download. Stop using one AI for everything. Start using the right one for each task. Full visual with setup steps, prompt templates, and tool comparison in the infographic below ⬇️ I walk through all 4 levels in my free AI CFO Masterclass every Tuesday 👉 https://lnkd.in/eaPA-W8P ♻️ Repost to help a finance team level up their Excel game

Nicolas Boucher hat dies geteiltHow I prompt Claude for finance in 5 layers Learn AI for Finance live in my free masterclass: https://lnkd.in/eTJrsHNW Most finance professionals prompt Claude like this: "Analyze this spreadsheet" Then they wonder why the output sounds like Wikipedia. I built a prompting pyramid for finance. 5 layers. Each one makes the output sharper. Layer 1: EFFORT Opus for numbers and complex analysis. Sonnet for drafts and quick questions. Match the model to the job. Layer 2: GOAL Give the outcome, not the task. "Explain the Q2 margin drop to the board" beats "analyze this spreadsheet" every time. Layer 3: ASK ME QUESTIONS End every prompt with: "Before you start, ask me everything you need to know to get this right." Claude asks. You answer. Better output. Layer 4: SKILLS Turn repeatable processes into Skills. One /command beats a 30-line prompt. Build it once. Run it monthly. Layer 5: PROJECT One Project per workstream. Add your GL template, prior reports, and formatting rules. Every chat starts informed. Here is what all 5 layers look like together: "Open my Monthly Close Project. Run /variance-commentary. Flag anything above 5% or $50K. Ask me everything you need to know first. Goal: a June variance report my CFO can present to the board without editing. Use Opus, effort High." That prompt takes 30 seconds to write. The output used to take 3 hours to build. Better context. Better questions. Better output. Full pyramid visual in the infographic below ⬇️ You can also get the full Claude collection for finance here👉 https://lnkd.in/e6azzasu (register for the free masterclass after getting the collection) ♻️ Repost if your finance team still prompts without a system

Nicolas Boucher gefällt dasNicolas Boucher gefällt dasApparently I’m officially a Claude Code power user now! Funny, because I’m an accountant, not a software engineer. My work lives in the messy operational space between what the business wants to do and what accounting guidance requires. That usually means product launches, billing system changes, revenue recognition workflows, and all the unique edge cases in between. Claude Code has become one of the tools I use to close that gap. Alongside ChatGPT and Cursor, AI has helped me research faster, trace processes more accurately, pressure-test ideas, perform detailed data checks, and turn ambiguous problems into something my team can actually react to. That’s the part I’m most excited about. The people closest to operational problems can now prototype and build solutions themselves. None of that replaces accounting judgment or strong controls. The work is still defining the problem clearly, setting the right constraints, and reviewing the output hard enough to keep the robots from vibecoding the general ledger.

Nicolas Boucher gefällt dasNicolas Boucher gefällt dasAI Training - Need it? If you need an AI course or training for finance, here is my list. Each course below comes from people and organizations I trust and know. Check out my website for my write-ups on each program. We have courses focused on Claude only, Copilot only, how to deeply integrate AI in Excel, community-style learning, and university certificates. I hand-picked each course, and where possible, I worked to get you an exclusive discount. Call it The FP&A Guy Way. Let me know if you have a course you think I should add. In addition to the below, here are some other people I recommend Glenn Hopper - He is my go-to AI person if you need help To implement it at your company? Start with Glenn. Fay Bordbar and Giles Male both do a lot of great Copilot training, even if Giles really wants to play with Excel formulas all day. Christian Martinez - He is one person everyone in finance should follow. He does a lot of great work when it comes to AI. Last but not least, a shoutout to Carolina Lago, who was kind enough to let me attend her Claude Accelerator course. I learned a lot from the course, and I know jer content is good. If you want to learn Claude, check out her course and tell her I sent you, and if you are lucky, she will still let you join her September cohort. If you have questions about a program, let me know.

Nicolas Boucher gefällt dasNicolas Boucher gefällt dasSarah Friar, CFO of OpenAI, recently wrote that OpenAI is working toward two bold ambitions: a zero-day close and automated, continuously updated forecasting. I love the ambition. I’m just not convinced zero-day close should become the new gold standard for finance. Are we using AI to take pressure off finance teams, or are we just using AI to create a new, even more unrealistic deadline? 1. What problem are we solving with a zero-day close? If management gets trustworthy numbers on Day 2 or Day 3, what materially improves by getting them on Day 0? 2. What about information that simply does not exist yet? Bank feeds and APIs help, but transactions can still arrive late, be corrected, or carry different effective and posting dates. Automation cannot make unavailable information available. 3. Where is the human in the loop? Do we really want material accruals, estimates, unusual transactions, intercompany issues and judgement calls automatically approved because the technology can process them? 4. Are we reducing workload or just moving the deadline? If finance teams are now expected to produce fully reconciled, management-ready numbers instantaneously, AI could actually create more pressure rather than less. 5. Different closes have different purposes. A monthly management close is not the same as quarter-end, and neither is the same as year-end with audit procedures, disclosures, tax, impairment assessments, estimates and other review requirements. 6. Business model matters. A relatively simple business with highly automated transaction flows is very different from construction, manufacturing, hospitality, project businesses, groups with multiple entities, complex revenue recognition, inventory, WIP or significant estimates. 7. Company size matters too. A zero-day close may be an exciting engineering challenge for a huge organization. For a €10m, €30m or €100m business, the ROI question might be completely different. The technology is only one part of the equation. Your processes, systems and people(!) need to be at the same level too. Would this information materially change how you run your business, or is there a point where faster stops adding value? Love to hear your thoughts.

At Forvis Mazars, Janine Hofer-Wittwer, CFA spoke with leaders from six cantonal, private and regional banks across Switzerland to find out how they’re putting ESG into practice. Now it’s about doing the work and showing the results A big thank you to those who shared their insights: Florian Tresch – Basellandschaftliche Kantonalbank, Daniel Wild – Bank J. Safra Sarasin, Marie-Laure Chapatte – Banque Cantonale Neuchâtel, Damien Contamin, CIIA, CFA ESG – Banque Cantonale de Genève, Urs Podzorski – Aargauische Kantonalbank and Baloise CH. 👉 Read the full article to see how Swiss banks are navigating their sustainability journey: https://lnkd.in/dqhB2Gtq #ForvisMazarsInSwitzerland #Sustainability #SwissBanking #FinancialServices #ESG #SustainableFinance #ClientExpectations #BankingInsights Janine Hofer-Wittwer, CFA Carla Reiss
