Judith Dada hat dies repostetJudith Dada hat dies repostetToday, I’m joining Langdock as Chief of Staff. After my first visit to the Langdock office earlier this year, I called my husband and told him: "if these guys end up wanting to hire me, I think I have to take it." From that very first conversation with Lennard Schmidt, it was clear that this company was different to anything I'd seen up close in my career as an investor. I've had the chance to get to know this team better over the last few months, and the Langdock culture is built as deliberately as the Langdock product, and everyone seems confident that they are working on something of huge importance. It’s the calmest yet fastest growing company I have come across: ARR has grown 2.5x since that first conversation. I am old enough to remember a house without the internet in it. Right now, it seems impossible to imagine what the world will look like when my kids are grown up. The pace of change is disorienting, but knowing that I’ll get to shape this future with this team, makes me feel that little bit calmer. Today, I’m switching sides of the table, but before I do, some important thank yous. To the firstminute capital engine room: I am lucky to have spent the last nine years never dreading a Monday. Nobody ever rushed to put their name on a deal - everything felt genuinely tag team, and we grew this thing together from cereal-for-dinner in the High Street Ken office to one of Europe's best early-stage funds. It was a special thing to be part of and I made friends for life. Thank you. Which brings me to Spencer Crawley and Brent Hoberman, who hired a 25-year-old with zero investing experience as the fund's first investor. I knew very little about startups (or life). Thank you for trusting me from day one. To all of the founders who let me play a tiny part in their journey: I learned more from watching you than from anything or anyone else in those years ..and last but not least thank you to Paula Hübner Wehmeyer, matchmaker extraordinaire. Lennard Schmidt, Tobias Kemkes, Jonas Beisswenger, Judith Dada can't wait to see what we'll do together. We are of course hiring - check out our careers page or reach out direct 💌

Missing Michiel Bakker Stan van Baarsen, Philip Fox and the legendary Tom Chivers. Hard to get us all into one room 😂 - we all live in different cities but were united by a very large Google doc and by our love for this continent.

Judith Dada hat dies geteiltWhat my husband said 🫶Judith Dada hat dies geteiltI just returned from the notary after buying a flat on Bergstraße in Berlin. 65 years ago today, the construction of the Berlin Wall turned that street into a dead end and it still is one today. I realized this only while scanning the news this morning, and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it for most of the day. I was born in the GDR, only a few months before Germany was peacefully reunified. But for more than 30 years, I have been lucky enough to grow up in freedom and prosperity, and I hope my children will be able to do the same. We can cross borders, change professions, start companies and move through much of the world with few constraints. For my generation, this freedom feels so normal that we spend much of our energy on self-optimization. We think about finding a great job, building a good life, becoming healthier, happier or wealthier, and making the most of ourselves. Taken to an extreme, this can look self-absorbed. But the fact that we are able to focus on these questions at all is an enormous privilege. We do not have to spend our energy fighting for the basic right to cross a street, leave a country, choose an occupation or say what we believe. I find it crazy to think that, basically just “yesterday,” Berlin and Germany were a completely different world. The freedom we take for granted today is historically exceptional, and its future feels more brittle than at any other point in my lifetime. We need to remember that freedom is not a natural law. Neither are democracy, peace or the prosperity on which political stability rests. 28 years after Bergstraße was cut up, in 1989, people in East Germany went to the streets. In those months before the Berlin Wall fell, ordinary citizens stood up for a better future in a wave of protests that was by no means guaranteed to end peacefully. They took personal risks because they refused to accept the world as it was. On days like today – in a world that is shaken by global power struggle, political populism and wars, we should remember that standing up for our values, our freedom and a peaceful future is not something we can delegate. Each of us has a part to play. Let’s take that responsibility seriously.

Judith Dada hat dies repostetJudith Dada hat dies repostetHungry beats big: The next generation of Visionaries 🔥 ✌ A few weeks ago we shared our partnership with Langdock and Judith stepping directly onto the frontline of Europe's AI transformation and creating a more direct operational bridge into AI for the founders we back. Before we head into the summer break, we want to share a bit more about how we set ourselves up to back the next generation of founders building in AI. We started Visionaries in 2020 as the antithesis of institutional venture, a club of founders and family entrepreneurs backing the next generation: Connecting the top 0.1% with the top 0.1%. The AI era doesn't just change how companies are built, it changes who is qualified to back them. Companies now grow at rates that blur stage bounderies. Returns concentrate. Analysis gets more commoditised and everything that can be analysed is, by definition, consensus. The defining companies of this era are the ones every spreadsheet rejects, until the day they look inevitable. Tendrils Compute. Lovable, Langdock, Black Forest Labs. We believe In this market, edge no longer lives in headcount or mid sized platform layers squeezed between US multistage giants and highly networked angels, it concentrates in a small number of high-conviction calls, and in the people making them. So we're rebuilding Visionaries for exactly that: concentrated and GP-led, with our hands inside the work. I'm excited to lead our investing hand in hand with Venkat, who has been behind some of our strongest recent investments, and to return to what I was doing when I co-founded La Famiglia and Visionaries: a radical focus on conviction-led investing, more time with founders, and a direct line into our AI-entrepreneur LP base. Judith is building Langdock from the inside as Co-CEO while investing alongside us with an operator's edge no full-time investor can replicate. And several of our team are taking entrepreneurial roles in AI, strengthening the network our founders draw on. From Lovable to Groq, n8n, Black Forest Labs, Deel, Langdock, Tandem Health, Solve Intelligence, Tacto, Personio and Pigment we've been fortunate to back founders defining each wave from the earliest stages. Now we're reshaping the firm itself with the same instinct. Europe is in its most consequential moment in a long time. The defining companies of the AI era are being built here, right now and we intend to be their first believer. More to come 🔥 Link to more details below in the comments 👇

Judith Dada hat dies geteiltThank you Ten More In and Helena Meyer-Schönherr for inviting me to discuss Europe 2031 and how we can all build a future worth falling in love with again with over 600 people in last week's webinar. A few key messages:

Judith Dada hat dies geteiltIt‘s really incredible to see Europe 2031 gain so much attention and spark a really important discussion: how can Europe best take responsibility for its future? How can we shape it such that it is a future worth looking forward to? Europe 2031 sparked a discussion, but the work doesn’t end there. That’s why I‘m teaming up with Ten More In to discuss the story and what Europe can do to strengthen sovereignty - as well as the role that each and every one of us can play here. We‘ll discuss the role of governments, industry, compute buildout, AI adoption and the important work of jointly shaping the story of how humans can thrive with AI. Signup link in the comments!

Judith Dada hat darauf reagiertJudith Dada hat darauf reagiertNew chapter, familiar faces 💙 Today is my first day at Langdock and I’m incredibly excited to be here! 🎉 When I started building my career in People, I knew I wanted to join ambitious companies at pivotal stages and help build the People functions that enable them to grow. I’ve been lucky enough to do that a few times already, and I’m incredibly honored to now join Langdock as People Lead and do it again. What made this an easy yes? High ambition, lots of curiosity, hard questions being welcomed, and a genuine appetite to build. I can’t wait to get started building great teams, strong systems, and a company people genuinely want to be part of. Hilda seems ready too. 🐶 Let’s build. 🚀

MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL)
1 WocheJudith Dada hat darauf reagiertWhat does it mean to "solve" computer vision? It's a harder question than it sounds. The field publishes tens of thousands of papers a year across nearly 100 specialized conferences, but MIT CSAIL Associate Professor Vincent Sitzmann explains that, while the inputs are clear (images, video, audio, text), the outputs are still up for debate. As the field shifts from digital to physical, focusing on AI that can intelligently interact with the world, it’s increasingly critical for researchers to define the parameters of success. On the latest episode of Building 32, Sitzmann discussed: 🔹 The LLM lesson: Natural language researchers stopped parsing grammar and segmenting the problem by feeding models the internet, skipping straight to "a system you can talk to." Vision is searching for that same superset task. 🔹 The data gap: High-level verbal instructions for cleaning a kitchen have little in common with the low-level motor commands a robot or physical AI agent actually needs. Robots need motion data, which is currently sparse. 🔹 Could AI learn like babies? Point a camera at a robot, let it move randomly, and let it build its own model correlating what it sees with what it did. 🔹 Play as a research agenda: "The reason why children play is not just for entertainment, it's for learning a better model of the world." “We're changing right now in computer vision, and it's an exciting time.” Read what Sitzmann has to say about computer vision as an evolving field 👉 https://bit.ly/4xhGRgj Or listen to the full podcast here 👉 https://bit.ly/45jaxNS -

Judith Dada gefällt dasJudith Dada gefällt dasLast week, Judith and I were invited to discuss with Chancellor Merz and our ministers what startups need to succeed in Germany. We discussed four central topics: 💻 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 AI will change the way we work, in companies, governments and public administrations. The question is how we use it well. In our tools Ark Climate and Ark Planning, we are building targeted AI features that, for example, warn when political goals are at risk or help cities learn from one another. 💵 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲 Europe needs more growth capital to keep its scale-ups and the value they create here. I believe that pension capital should play a greater role in venture capital, as it already does in countries such as the UK, Canada and Sweden. 🤝 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗽𝘀 Startups can often provide the most innovative and most cost-effective solutions to challenges in the public sector. But to make that happen, startups need to be included in discussions around digital government and AI in public administration. We also need fair competitive conditions compared with public IT providers, Big Tech and consultancies. 🗄️ 𝗖𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘂𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆 Bureaucracy is one of Germany’s clearest competitive disadvantages, from setting up a company and applying for funding to procurement processes and notarial requirements. Alongside regulatory change, we should use AI layers to improve our current infrastructure. This could help reduce bureaucracy for administrations and startups much faster. I left the conversation encouraged. I felt a genuine willingness to make changes. Now we need to implement the initiatives that have been announced and turn them into improvements that founders can actually feel in their everyday work. I’m looking forward to the upcoming discussions with the Federal Chancellery and the ministries to help make that happen. 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗲𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗚𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗽 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆? 💛

📊 Women founders remain underrepresented — it’s time to change the numbers! Women are still significantly underrepresented in Germany’s startup ecosystem. The Female Founders Monitor 2025 shows that the share of female founders has dropped to just 18.8% after five years of steady growth. And earlier reporting already highlighted that, while many initiatives have started, there is still plenty of untapped potential in supporting women-led startups. At the same time, about 21% of German startups are founded by people with a migration background. But newcomer women founders remain even less visible in the ecosystem — despite the huge potential they bring. At SINGA, we want to change that. The Berlin Newcomer Startup Award is our way of encouraging more women to test their ideas, gain visibility, and grow in a truly supportive community! 🚀 This could be your chance to: 🤝 Access a supportive network of mentors and peers 🌱 Receive coaching and resources to grow your project 💶 Win prize money to bring your vision to life If you’ve been waiting for the right moment — this is it. 🔗 Applications are closing soon — apply today: https://lnkd.in/dKR33HAa 📩 Got questions?
