“I just knew [Riz] from his work. But obviously when I was presented with the opportunity to work with him, I jumped at it. He had a ton of ideas and it was just like an exercise in harnessing this madcap energy.”

“We saw this as a real opportunity to look at Sherlock before he’s the detective that we all know. How does he get there?”

“I think with most comedy shows and ensemble shows, it sort of takes a little bit to find it…. Once we landed at the end of the first season, we were all really charged up about knowing which characters we wanted to continue to follow the stories with.”

“The bar for us from Season 1 of Jury Duty to Company Retreat, we wanted to raise it for ourselves. I don’t know why we decided to do that, but we decided.”

“We’d done what so many shows now that come back don’t do, leaving audiences frustrated because they’re setting up a second season. We had no intention of setting up a second season. It’s a difficult story to tell and all credit to [everyone]  involved that [Season 2] turned out the way it did.”

“He was going in the dramatic path, but it would have been nice for him to play with the updated forms of improv comedy films, the Chris Guest movies. It would’ve been fun to see how he would have fit into that scene …”

“It’s a testament to this cast and how we have such a deep bench of just stone-cold badasses, and the extent with which they attacked that final season and all of their scenes and all of their moments… is just more than I could ask for.”

“We just made a promise to each other that we’re gonna approach this as the most cinematic of TV shows, and really just approach it like a movie, and treat it with that level of care.”

“The way we perceive a person, the way they look at you. Did they cast a weird glance, and you took it wrong? It’s misperceptions, subjective perceptions. That is the arc of the show. That was the whole point because we all do it.”

“We have so many people who they’ve never played the games, and they never will, and that’s OK, but they love Fallout, just like somebody now who has played it for decades.” 

“In Season 1, we’re very proud of how big and grand everything was, and in Season 2 we’re really proud of telling stories. Merging those two things together and then taking it up a notch is the best way to describe [Season 3].”
