‘Leviticus’
As someone who considers herself a bit of a baby when it comes to horror, I absolutely loved Leviticus when I had a chance to catch it in theaters. Luckily, the wait to watch it at home is now over because the movie is now streaming on demand from platforms including Prime Video. Leviticus is an Australian horror movie that follows Naim (Joe Bird) and Ryan (Stacy Clausen), two teenage boys in a secret romance, who both become haunted by a violent supernatural entity, summoned by members of their church, that takes on the form of the person they most desire — each other. The movie excels in suspense; it’s certainly leans more psychological and metaphorical horror rather than relying on cheap jumpscares, but it’s also genuinely romantic. Both leads are fantastic, too, as they make you as a viewer understand their impossible situation and feel their deep pain, fear and love without many words.
