Reconditus is a Boom-compatible PWAD for Doom II, consisting of four levels, plus an outro map. It was created by Yugiboy85, with one map contributed by DMPhobos, and first released on the Doomworld forums on July 18, 2024, with the final version uploaded to the idgames archive on December 13, 2024.
The mapset was developed over the course of three years and is built around a theme of flooded temple structures mixed with Egyptian and tech elements. It makes use of the OTEX texture pack in combination with Egyptian-themed resources taken from Valiant and Ancient Aliens. According to Yugiboy85, the theme for the mapset came to them while listening to the track "Temple" by Sarah Mancuso (esselfortium), from Back to Saturn X Episode 3.
Reconditus received an honorable mention at the 2024 Cacowards.

Custom content[edit]
Reconditus includes sprite replacements from the Realm 667 repository for the zombieman, shotgunner, imp, chaingunner and demon, with no changes to the behavior of monsters apart from both the demon and spectre having their movement speed increased by 30%. The WAD also replaces the firing sound of the plasma gun with the one from Doom 3. In addition to that, a custom PLAYPAL is included, taken from the 32in24 series, which modifies most blues to give them a cerulean hue, as well as deepen the darker shades of red in the palette. The custom graphics for the title screen, intermission screen, status bar, and M_DOOM lump were created for the project by uber.
