Hello Welcome, and welcome to the Doom Wiki!

Thank you for participating in this community project. To help you get started, we suggest looking at the main help hub, where you can learn more about editing the wiki, understanding our guidelines and policies, and finding answers in the FAQ.

A couple of tips upfront:

• If you're just starting in wiki markup, then see these basic and advanced formatting explanations.
• To experiment, please use a sandbox, for example here.
• On talk pages, always sign your posts.
• Reply on a post to any talk page on that same page (not the poster's talk page), usually indented with one colon (:) more than the previous indentation to keep topics threaded.
• Put a meaningful explanation of an edit in the Summary field, and Preview edits before Saving them to review and resolve possible mistakes before they are stored.
• Some (repetitive) activities on this wiki are automated via XymphBot scripts, and could be tiresome to perform completely and consistently by hand. You can submit requests to Xymph or ask on #doomwiki.
  Specifically, creating articles for all maps in a multi-level WAD with navigation box, secret sectors, statistics, map image and other standard information is better not attempted manually, as such efforts are much more cumbersome to perform than – and would get in the way of – the scripted passes.
• Check back after a day or two to see how your edit(s) were reviewed, and learn from any changes that may have been made.
