
Axis Small Cap Fund delivered a CAGR of 27.10% and 21.28% in the last five and seven years respectively. The next two funds in the list were mid cap funds. Invesco India Midcap Fund offered a return of 28.61% and 20.04% in the last five and seven years respectively, followed by Motilal Oswal Midcap Fund.

Motilal Oswal Midcap Fund posted a return of 33.70% and 20.99% in the last five and seven years respectively. The next two funds to follow were from Nippon India Mutual Fund.
Nippon India Growth Mid Cap Fund and Nippon India Small Cap Fund delivered over 20% CAGR in the said time periods. Nippon India Growth Mid Cap Fund is the fund with highest NAV of Rs 4,203 and Nippon India Small Cap Fund is the largest small cap fund based on assets managed of Rs 65,921 crore as on July 31.
The list had three funds from Quant Mutual Fund. Quant ELSS Tax Saver Fund offered a CAGR of 26.73% and 21.04% in the last five and seven years respectively. Quant Flexi Cap Fund also featured in the list of funds to deliver over 20% CAGR in the said time periods.
The largest fund managed by Quant Mutual Fund, Quant Small Cap Fund, delivered a CAGR of 35.52% and 25.58% in the last five and seven years respectively.
Among these eight funds, Quant Small Cap Fund offered the highest CAGR in both the time periods.
There were many funds that gave over 20% CAGR in any one horizon but we considered the funds that have offered over 20% CAGR in both the time periods.
How some prominent funds fared?
Among the other funds that have been there in the market for the last seven years, no other fund delivered over 20% CAGR but many funds delivered over 20% CAGR in the last five years.Edelweiss Mid Cap Fund and Quant Mid Cap Fund gave 29.47% and 27.64% CAGR respectively in the last five years. These funds gave 19.97% and 19.93% CAGR respectively in the last seven years.
SBI Contra Fund, the oldest and largest contra fund, delivered 29.41% CAGR in the last five years and gave 18.91% CAGR in the last seven years. Parag Parikh Flexi Cap Fund, the largest active fund and flexi cap fund based on assets managed, delivered 22.62% CAGR in the last five years and 18.79% CAGR in the last seven years.

HDFC Mid Cap Fund offered a CAGR of 29.12% in the last five years and a CAGR of 18.75% in the last seven years. The fund is the largest mid cap fund based on assets managed.
We considered all equity funds excluding sectoral, thematic, and equity oriented hybrid funds. We considered regular and growth options. We calculated the CAGR for the last five and seven years.
