• 3 January — In Mariscal Luzuriaga Province (Ancash), a bus falls into the Pacosbamba River, leaving eight dead and 25 injured.^[1]

• 11 February — Héctor Miguel Cabrejos Vidarte officially resigns as Archbishop of Trujillo amid criticism over his failure to stop abuses by the Catholic organization Sodalitium Christianae Vitae when he was president of the Peruvian Episcopal Conference.^[4]
