[edit]Question from Pablo Kirtchuk (16:04, 2 March 2026)
[edit]Hello Lfstevens,
Would appreciate your advice (or help?)
I have completed my first article. it is about Jazz pianist Ari Erev (living person). The latest version can be found in my sandbox, here: User:Pablo Kirtchuk/sanbox
Previously today, I have created a draft:Ari Erev document. It was a very initial document lacking references and citation, and it was very quicky deleted by user BusterD. This is the message that is displayed:
" A page with this title has previously been moved or deleted.
If you are creating a new page with different content, please continue. If you are recreating a page similar to the previously deleted page, or are unsure, please first contact the user(s) who performed the action(s) listed below. 10:41, 2 March 2026 BusterD talk contribs deleted page Draft:Ari Erev (G15: LLM-generated content that has not been adequately reviewed: G11: Unambiguous advertising or promotion) (thank)
I am not sure what should I do now. - Just continue and publish the page?
or
- Create a "talk" entry for user BusterD and pointi him to the "User:Pablu Kirtchuk/sandbox" document?
And also, the above message that I received says something about a "LLM-generated contnet".... What does this mean?
Thanks very muc for your help! Pablo --Pablo Kirtchuk (talk) 16:04, 2 March 2026 (UTC)
- Welcome to Wikipedia @Pablo Kirtchuk! If your latest work is properly cited and meets other WP criteria (there are quit a few), then go ahead and publish it. If you have something to say to BusterD, add something to his talk page. Good luck! Lfstevens (talk) 06:52, 3 March 2026 (UTC)

Question from AndronicaSansEspoir (19:07, 3 March 2026)
[edit]Hi! I made a draft back in September but it hasn't been approved and I can't find it anywhere - please can you help? --AndronicaSansEspoir (talk) 19:07, 3 March 2026 (UTC)
- Welcome to Wikipedia, @AndronicaSansEspoir! Drafts get deleted unless they are getting attention. Yours probably get ensnarled in that. Lfstevens (talk) 05:15, 6 March 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks for getting back to me - what should I do in this case, resubmit the draft as a new file? Sorry - complete newb AndronicaSansEspoir (talk) 14:15, 6 March 2026 (UTC)
- You can resubmit the draft, no problem. Lfstevens (talk) 02:03, 8 March 2026 (UTC)

Plurals
[edit]The leading capital in the article name is already ignored and the "s" added after the brackets is automatically included as part of the blue link. Using cars takes twice the effort to write and twice the effort for an editor to understand - making it much harder for all future editors for no good reason.
If you want to link to car but want to display it is "cars" then you can use cars to display as "cars". Sometimes there are even redirects for plural forms so you can use the even easier cars and batteriesto display as "cars" and "batteries".
Much easier for you to write and much easier for every future editor. Stepho talk 02:05, 8 March 2026 (UTC)
- Thanks! Lfstevens (talk) 06:33, 9 March 2026 (UTC)

[edit]Hello. I usually struggle with finding good sources so how can I find these sources? And also, I'm slightly bad at English :( so I'd like to learn also how to phrase sentences into a encyclopedic tone. Thanks! --RightYiZheng (talk) 12:06, 11 March 2026 (UTC)

- oh wait, I probably added a second question, sry. RightYiZheng (talk) 12:15, 11 March 2026 (UTC)
- Welcome to Wikipedia, @RightYiZheng!
- The best way to find sources is to look at similar articles and see where their sources come from. Look in those places.
- There are many writing guides out there. One new approach is to write some text and then ask a chatbot to improve it for you.
Lfstevens (talk) 15:12, 11 March 2026 (UTC)
- I usually avoid LLMs (or AI chatbots) to improve text, because I'm kind of scared that administrators may send me a warning that I used a LLM to edit. So I usually don't do that. Let me know if you meant something else. RightYiZheng (talk) 15:30, 11 March 2026 (UTC)
- There are many guides to writing out there. I don't have a specific one to recommend. You could pick an article whose style you appreciate and try to emulate it. Good luck! Lfstevens (talk) 19:56, 11 March 2026 (UTC)
- Ok, I'd consider using guides (as you suggested), thanks for your advice! RightYiZheng (talk) 02:29, 12 March 2026 (UTC)

cleaning up refs is good, but...
[edit]please don't leave a mess for some other editor to cleanup; see this edit and §References (permalink). Too many citations are showing cs1|2 error messages as a result of the cleanup.
I have fixed all of those templates but it should not have been necessary for me to do so. Please use Show preview before you click Publish changes.

- Welcome to Wikipedia, @Mikeoxlittle! "Hot" articles often require you to be a logged on user to edit them. Which article are you wondering about? Lfstevens (talk) 02:16, 22 April 2026 (UTC)
- it is an article about assault weapons. But I am also having another issue I added an edit to a article about virginia gerrymandering even cited the source from the governor herself her own words but was threatened with a ban if I keep editing so not sure what's going on Mikeoxlittle (talk) 02:20, 22 April 2026 (UTC)
- Please give me the names of the articles so I can help you. Lfstevens (talk) 02:26, 22 April 2026 (UTC)
- Redistricting in Virginia
- Added an edit quoting governor Abigail Spanberger word for word and posted the date time and where it was posted. Mikeoxlittle (talk) 02:30, 22 April 2026 (UTC)
- Good that you included the time/date, but you got deleted because you did not include a citation for the quote. If you want to include that content, you need to include a reference that provides the url that other users can click to see the original post. Lfstevens (talk) 06:11, 22 April 2026 (UTC)

Electromagnetic gun moved to draftspace
[edit]Thanks for your contributions to Electromagnetic gun. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing as a live article at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and it consists of machine-generated text. I have converted it to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Orange sticker (talk) 08:14, 24 April 2026 (UTC)

- Welcome to Wikipedia, @Dinosaur WIKI Edits! Depends on the article. When I am responding to an edit request on a subject outside of my interests, I generally don't read for content/learning. OTOH, when a subject interests me, I use the editing process as a way of learning/retaining the information in the article. Good editing! Lfstevens (talk) 19:38, 2 May 2026 (UTC)

Question from Aisha Adeshewa (17:14, 8 May 2026)
[edit]Hello I don't know how to edit so I want to learn more about it --Aisha Adeshewa (talk) 17:14, 8 May 2026 (UTC)
- Welcome to Wikipeda, @Aisha Adeshewa! Are you on a phone or computer? In either case it's pretty easy to start editing. Basically you click the Edit button and away you go. Remember that if you want to add something to an article, you need to have a reliable source for it. Happy to explain all this in more detail if you like. Lfstevens (talk) 01:58, 9 May 2026 (UTC)
- Note: Aadridt's mentor Pickersgill-Cunliffe is away.
Hi...could you please guide me in creating manual citations??? --Aadilotr (talk) 13:23, 9 May 2026 (UTC)
- Welcome to Wikipedia, @Aadridt! I assume you're on a computer instead of a phone. In that case, when you pick manual, you next get a menu of different kinds of citations: website, news, etc. Pick one and a dialog box appears with fields for some of the parts of the citation. Fill in the fields for which you have information, such as title and url (http://....) If none of those fit, then you can pick Basic and just enter info in textual format. In that case it will appear just as you type it in. Please let me know how it goes. Good editing! Lfstevens (talk) 03:43, 10 May 2026 (UTC)

- ok...and like this in the ss, how do we find the info to fill up the fields?? Aadilotr (talk) 13:24, 11 May 2026 (UTC)
- Most references include a web page. You can usually find the information (title, author, date,...) to complete the fields on that page. If it's a book, the front matter of the book is the place to look. If it's Youtube, the page usually has what you need. Lfstevens (talk) 03:33, 12 May 2026 (UTC)
Formatting Error
[edit]In the Manoj Joshi Wikipedia page, there's like some error in his filmography for the year, title, and role like structure and I can't find out what's wrong Ashjmaza (talk) 23:11, 11 May 2026 (UTC)
- Welcome to Wikipedia, @Ashjmaza. Which one are you talking about, the actor, the journalist, or the commentator? Lfstevens (talk) 03:35, 12 May 2026 (UTC)
- oops mb... actor Ashjmaza (talk) 16:00, 12 May 2026 (UTC)
- The rowspan for 2007 should be 2, not 3. Also, the |- is missing above Mere Baap. I left it for you to work on/see. Good editing! Lfstevens (talk) 01:33, 13 May 2026 (UTC)

Hi! I'm new on Wikipedia, but I have had my first accepted article a week ago on John Pike (civil servant). I was wondering if I can get some constructive feedback on it in its current form. --Nathoid (talk) 07:08, 17 May 2026 (UTC)
