Just a piece of advice

[edit]

since you were born in Germany, stick to German politics, your biased opinions on American politics are not appreciated, far-left activist, that's who you are. Go ahead, complain about me to your left-wing activist admins. ~2026-24010-46 (talk) 21:00, 19 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Guess all those studies and papers on comparative politics and articles by The New York Times, The Washington Post, Time magazine, NPR and The Guardian are written by far-left activists too. Maxeto0910 (talk) 11:25, 9 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Service awards

[edit]

I was just looking over some of your work and noticed you have quite an impressive number of edits. I've been editing since 2014 and I still have less than 10,000. I also noticed you have many banners on your User Page, but do not list any Service awards, to which you are most likely entitled. Thank you for your time and contributions.

Double spaces

[edit]

Multiple spacebar spaces are rendered by the Wikipedia software as single spaces, and replacing them with just one has no effect on the page our readers see... all it practically does is add another page to the watchlist of editors to verify. Also, old people such as myself, who were taught to type many decades ago, were taught to double space after the period when ending a sentence, and I still do that... besides being an ingrained habit, I think it makes the text more readable when viewing the source using a fixed width font such as Courier. If an editor were to actually want multiple spaces to appear on the page as rendered for the user, they would have to use character entities, such as   or for breakable spaces, Marcus Markup (talk) 23:10, 9 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Translation help

[edit]

Hey Maxeto, I'm working on an article that requires some knowledge of the German language that I don't have. Would you be able to spare some time to help out? The article is sachertorte, and my question pertains to what this article says about the cake's creation. I can elaborate if you this is something you have the capacity / inclination to help with. Whonting (talk) 13:42, 14 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, according to the newspaper article that portraits the life of Franz Sacher, the Sachertorte was invented by him while working in Hungary in the 1840s.

Maxeto0910 (talk) 14:42, 14 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for this. That's what the machine translation indicated to me, although I worried I was missing something. One concern I have is that Haslinger, who is cited in that article you give as context, said in 2018 in Die Wiener KĂźche.
Am I correct in understanding the machine translations as Haslinger misreading the 1906 article? Whonting (talk) 14:50, 14 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I think so. Neither is the 1906 article an interview, nor is the year of invention directly stated. It is merely a life portrait of Sacher that states that the Sachertorte was invented when he was working in Hungary in the 1840s. Maxeto0910 (talk) 15:20, 14 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Ta, really appreciate the help on this. I think I'll write that he said it was invented in Hungary in the 1840s and footnoting Haslinger's reading of the text, along the lines of approach three of WP:WSAW. Whonting (talk) 03:38, 15 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Maxeto0910!

Thank you for your edits. I noticed this edit: did you know you can also use {{'}} instead? It saves so much time! Not really, but if you edit a lot on mobile like me, it's a lot easier. Thanks, and happy editing. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 12:54, 19 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Slender: The Arrival

[edit]

@Maxeto0910 Hiya, I’ve seen that you’ve already started doing a pass over the GA review for the article and have fixed some of the issues. I just wanted to ask if you can add some notes to Talk:Slender: The Arrival/GA1 (see this for example of notes) this will avoid confusion on which issues have been addressed or not.

Thanks! 1timeuse75 (talk) 13:15, 29 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, I will catch it up when I have the time before doing further changes to the article. Maxeto0910 (talk) 13:31, 29 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, I'm finished. Maxeto0910 (talk) 13:42, 29 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Hiya, I think I've done everything for the Second Pass, expect for the 11th point "Indirect speech should use past tense." Can you do this one please? 1timeuse75 (talk) 10:21, 31 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Unless I missed something, it might be finished. Maxeto0910 (talk) 10:35, 31 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
