Wikipedia:Featured and good topic candidates
|
Featured and good topics in Wikipedia A featured topic (FT) is a collection of inter-related articles in which at least half are featured articles or featured lists. The remaining articles must be at least good quality. A good topic (GT) is a collection of inter-related articles that are of a good quality (though are not necessarily featured articles) with a less stringent quality threshold than a featured topic. This page is for the nomination of potential featured and good topics. See the featured and good topic criteria for criteria on both types of topic. Before nominating a topic, nominators may wish to receive feedback by listing it at the Featured and good topics talk page. Nominators must be sufficiently familiar with the subject matter and sources to deal with objections during the FTC/GTC process. If you nominate something you have worked on, note it as a self-nomination. Nominators who are not significant contributors to the articles of the topic should consult regular editors of the articles prior to nomination. Nominators are expected to respond positively to constructive criticism and to make an effort to address objections promptly. The featured and good topics coordinators Aza24, MaranoFan and Kyle Peake determine the timing of the process for each nomination. For a nomination to be promoted to FT or GT status, consensus must be reached for a group to be promoted to featured or good topic status. If enough time passes without objections being resolved, nominations will be removed from the candidates topic and archived. To contact the FGTC coordinators, please leave a message on the FGTC talk page, or use the {{@FGTC}} notification template elsewhere. You may want to check previous archived nominations first: |

Nomination procedure[edit]To create a new nomination use the form below (e.g., Wikipedia:Featured and good topic candidates/Saffron/archive1) and click the "Create new nomination" button. Once the nomination page is created, remember to transclude it in the appropriate section below, to leave nomination templates on the talk pages of the articles nominated for the topic. For detailed instructions on how to nominate topics or add articles to existing topics, see Wikipedia:Featured and good topic candidates/Nomination procedure. Supporting and objecting[edit]Please review all the articles of the nominated topic with the featured and good topic criteria in mind before deciding to support or oppose a nomination.
For a topic to be promoted to featured or good topic status, consensus must be reached that it meets the criteria. The FGTC coordinators are usually the ones to assess this consensus and close FGTC discussions. If there is a consensus to promote, the promote instructions are located here. If enough time passes without objections being resolved (at least one week), nominations will be removed from the candidates list and archived. Nominations will stay here for ten days if there is unanimous consent, or longer if warranted by debate. | |

[edit]Ohuede dynasty
[edit]The Ohuede dynasty was a short-lived ruling house in the late Ogiso era of Igodomigodo (the early state that preceded the Kingdom of Benin), lasting from c. 1110 AD – c. 1130 AD. It emerged after Ogiso ('king') Ehenneden died without an heir, leading the Edionnisen ('Great Nobles'), who were kingmakers that perform the legal duty of crowning a new Ogiso, to trace succession through collateral branches of the Oriagba line, leading to the accession of Ohuede from the Ihinmwirin lineage. His brief reign established guild-based agricultural organisation and reinforcement of hereditary succession rules. He was succeeded by Ogisos Oduwa, Obioye, Arigho, and Owodo. The dynasty reinforced the principle of primogeniture, but its period was mostly affected by political instability and economic decline. The dynasty collapsed following Owodo's deposition by the Edionnisen after accusations of grave misconduct, ending the Ohuede line and also contributing to the final dissolution of the Ogiso monarchy.
I am happy to nominate these series of 6 articles which I have extensively researched on and improved all to the GA status. Thank you for looking and considering. --Vanderwaalforces (talk) 00:51, 18 May 2026 (UTC)

The North East Line is a high-capacity Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) line in Singapore. Operated by SBS Transit, the 20-kilometre (12 mi) line runs from HarbourFront station in southern Singapore to Punggol station in the northeast via Chinatown, Little India, Serangoon and Hougang. Completed at a cost of S$5 billion, the line began operating 14 of its 16 stations on 20 June 2003. Buangkok station opened on 15 January 2006, and Woodleigh station began operations on 20 June 2011. A one-station extension to Punggol Coast station was completed in 2024. Alstom rolling stock – C751A, C751C and C851E – runs on the line, which is fully automated. The stations are wheelchair-accessible, and most are Civil Defence shelters designed to withstand airstrikes and chemical attacks. There are 19 artworks displayed across its 17 stations as part of the MRT network's Art-in-Transit programme.
Glad to nominate this for good topic for this list of NEL stations. I reworked most of these articles, though a few were done by a few other users.--ZKang123 (talk · contribs) 11:29, 13 May 2026 (UTC)
- Support. Might suggest changing "most are Civil Defence shelters" to "most double as Civil Defence shelters", but otherwise it seems a comprehensive writeup. I can't think of any obvious gaps, those which come to mind (rolling stock, depots, other infrastructure) extend beyond the North East Line topic and so are more wider MRT topics. Four more FAs to promote to FT. CMD (talk) 12:59, 13 May 2026 (UTC)

Topic removal candidates
[edit]2003 Pacific typhoon season was demoted on 13 February 2026, it's recent GA nomination was withdrawn due to a lack of time to do the necessary improvements to the article, and without it the topic fails criterion 3.b. Armbrust The Homunculus 20:53, 18 May 2026 (UTC)
- Remove - I have a feeling quite a few of the GA’s would not survive a GA review. Hurricanehink mobile (talk) 21:27, 18 May 2026 (UTC)
- Delist per nom. JHD0919 (talk) 23:00, 18 May 2026 (UTC)
- Delist as the GAN reviewer. GiftedIceCream 13:34, 19 May 2026 (UTC)
2 Pallas was demoted on 10 February 2026, there is no effort to change that, and without it the topic fails criterion 3.b. (Additionally 10 Hygiea was also delisted shortly after.) Regards, Armbrust The Homunculus 06:41, 11 May 2026 (UTC)
- Delist. I actually brought this one here a while back before I learned there was a grace period. Bgsu98 (Talk) 18:31, 11 May 2026 (UTC)
