How to use this page

[edit]

Making a request

[edit]

Before asking volunteers to look for your source, try finding it yourself with the tools at your disposal.

In particular, eligible editors can use the Wikipedia Library, which gives access to content provided by numerous academic publishers.

Fixing references and common medical problems!
Warning: for legal reasons, we must note that the Resource Exchange cannot fix any medical problems. But it can fix references.
  • Though we would prefer you to ask for a specific journal, article or work, we will accept open-ended questions. You can ask for all kinds of sources here, either on this page or by writing directly to an active user.
  • Provide as much detail as possible: a full citation with author, title, publisher, date and identifiers like DOI, ISBN, ISSN, PMID, OCLC, etc. Indicate which article you need this for.
  • Due to copyright restrictions, we cannot send you full book/thesis copies. Narrow down your request to a specific chapter or page(s).
  • Since we cannot post original copyrighted material online, we will most likely send it by email. Make sure you have specified an email address in your preferences before asking.
  • Add the {{Resolved}} template when your request is completed.
  • Filled requests are archived. Requests unfilled after three months will also be archived.

What to try next

[edit]

If you are unable to obtain what you need here, you may be able to get it via the WMF resource support pilot.

Fulfilling a request

[edit]
  • Anyone may offer advice and fulfill requests, in full or in part. When fulfilling a part of a request, tell others which one so that they don't have to do the same work.
  • Notify (mention) the requester using {{u|REQUESTER_USERNAME}}.

For Afrikan Spir

Thanks, IOHANNVSVERVS (talk) 05:26, 11 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I believe this is OCLC 3735884. @IOHANNVSVERVS, do you need the entire book, or an excerpt? Staraction (talk | contribs) 22:14, 17 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Ideally the entire book please. Thank you, IOHANNVSVERVS (talk) 00:15, 18 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Doing... will try to see if this is able to be uploaded to the Internet Archive. Staraction (talk | contribs) 03:35, 18 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Not much luck, unfortunately. Staraction (talk | contribs) 02:29, 30 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
IOHANNVSVERVS, email me for the front matter of this. Let me know which portion you're looking for. --Usernameunique (talk) 02:35, 21 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@Usernameunique, sent you an email. IOHANNVSVERVS (talk) 21:30, 23 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
IOHANNVSVERVS, just checking that you received this. Are there particular portions that look interesting? --Usernameunique (talk) 21:30, 27 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, thanks for following up. I still haven't recieved an email. IOHANNVSVERVS (talk) 21:42, 27 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
IOHANNVSVERVS, just sent again, this time with pages up to 30. --Usernameunique (talk) 05:36, 3 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! IOHANNVSVERVS (talk) 09:36, 3 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, IOHANNVSVERVS. I removed the {{resolved}} template, as I'm still trying to get the additional pages. --Usernameunique (talk) 02:35, 4 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Brilliant! IOHANNVSVERVS (talk) 03:51, 4 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]
IOHANNVSVERVS, just sent pages 30 to 40. Still working on the rest. --Usernameunique (talk) 18:16, 30 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Much appreciated! IOHANNVSVERVS (talk) 21:04, 30 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]

@IOHANNVSVERVS Have you received all pages? Can this be marked as resolved? YuniToumei (talk) 12:42, 20 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

No I haven't, @YuniToumei. I would still very much like to if possible. A video of someone flipping through the pages would work just as well and might be easier than scanning every page btw @Usernameunique, not sure if that's an option. Thank you both. IOHANNVSVERVS (talk) 14:35, 20 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the reminder. Just requested additional pages. --Usernameunique (talk) 20:58, 20 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Pages from Llandudno, Queen of Welsh Resorts

[edit]
  • Wynne Jones, Ivor (2002). Llandudno: Queen of Welsh Resorts. Landmark Publishing Ltd. pp. 81–82. ISBN 9781843060482.

Needed as I am attempting to translate Llyfrgell Llandudno into English and want to verify a ref. Pages 81-82. A later edition of the same book could work too (if pages havent moved). thank you! Rhagfyr (talk) 20:52, 2 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Rhagfyr, I have this for the first edition, from 1975. Not sure if it will have what you need, but you can email me for it. -Usernameunique (talk) 22:36, 22 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@Rhagfyr Has this been resolved? BorgQueen (talk) 21:15, 15 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]
No still looking! Rhagfyr (talk) 21:38, 23 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@Rhagfyr: Were you able to get a copy from Usernameunique for the 1975 edition, if that works? ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 16:30, 2 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]
No it wasnt in the selected pages oddly (I am copying from a translated wiki which referenced those) so I am looking for pages in this book regarding Llandudno Library which I think could either be on a) a page about Mostyn Street or b) surrounding an illustration of John Bright on page 71. Thanks so much in advance for any help Rhagfyr (talk) 20:58, 2 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]
ARandomName123, thanks for checking in. The pages weren't the right ones from the 1975 edition, but Rhagfyr suggested others that might help; I've just requested them from my library. --Usernameunique (talk) 01:15, 3 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]
thank you so much @Usernameunique ! I was about to do the same but my library isn’t doing ILLs right now Rhagfyr (talk) 09:58, 3 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Rhagfyr, did you get the new chapters I emailed you? Let me know if you want me to also request the pages that the index says mention John Bright. --Usernameunique (talk) 02:09, 21 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]
No could you try again? thanks so much! Rhagfyr (talk) 20:14, 6 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Rhagfyr, just noticed your message here, and just resent it. --Usernameunique (talk) 15:09, 26 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Ah thank you so much got it! Useful stuff in there but think I still need to find the 2002 edition... the hunt continues Rhagfyr (talk) 20:23, 26 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Materials relating to the clean hands doctrine in various jurisdictions

[edit]

Need the definition of "clean hands" or "clean hands doctrine" or "unclean hands doctrine" or similar.

This is a guide to access it Words and Phrases no longer needed.

ETA: If anyone can get of the newest edition of American Law Reports and find info about the same doctrine, it would be great.

Need access to sections 111 to 113 of that source, as well as this page. If you can find it in other parts of Halsbury's Laws of England I'd be grateful. Requires a LexisNexis subscription.

For Clean hands

Thanks, Szmenderowiecki (talk · contribs) 06:03, 25 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]

@Szmenderowiecki: This has been archived here. It looks like the complete article, but I can't be sure. —Bruce1eetalk 07:03, 25 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
No, this is a guide of how to access Westlaw. I mean the actual article in Words and Phrases about the clean hands doctrine. There is technically access from my uni but in practice it doesn't work at all. Szmenderowiecki (talk · contribs) 07:30, 25 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@Szmenderowiecki: I can't read anything about "clean hands" in the reference you linked above. – Doc TaxonTalk14:47, 25 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Because that's not the reference. Sorry for not being clear.
You have to log in to Westlaw/Thomson Reuters, or through a uni/library that has access to their databases, and search for this term. Or maybe get hold of a hard copy of Words and Phrases and share the entry. Szmenderowiecki (talk · contribs) 16:01, 25 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Szmenderowiecki, you've got mail. Extraordinary Writ (talk) 20:14, 25 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I received the first page of Words and Phrases and I find that I don't need it that much after all.
I deeply appreciate the newest Black's Law Dictionary entry, I only had the 9th edition available.
Still waiting for American Law Reports if available. Szmenderowiecki (talk · contribs) 20:52, 25 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Szmenderowiecki, for the ALR, there's the fairly well-organized public-domain 1919 version, and then it's just been updated over the years with a "cumulative supplement" with headnotes from bazillions of cases that mention clean hands with little or no topical organization. I don't think you'd find it very useful, and it runs to north of 200 pages, which is more than I can plausibly claim fair use on. The more recent ALRs focus on much narrower topics (e.g., "Unclean Hands as Bar to Equitable Relief in Domestic Relations Proceeding or Dispute"). Extraordinary Writ (talk) 21:50, 25 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Understood. I will see, based on existing sources, what specific domains I may request the ALRs for. I have patents, environmental litigation, a bit of commercial relations, so I will see what I can get to get a diverse cross-section.
(For reasons beyond me, the 1919 edition is available as search-only even though it's in public domain) Szmenderowiecki (talk · contribs) 01:25, 26 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, sometimes Google Books does that for people outside the U.S. Maybe try this (starting at page 67 of the PDF)? Extraordinary Writ (talk) 01:33, 26 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
You're a rock star, thank you! Szmenderowiecki (talk · contribs) 01:40, 26 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, in the meantime, can you access all but the first practice notes at the end of [this page? Thank you. Szmenderowiecki (talk · contribs) 02:04, 26 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, sent. Something else that might be useful is the entries in Am. Jur. 2d and C.J.S.: the Internet Archive has relatively recent copies here (starting at page 604) and here (starting at page 304), respectively. Extraordinary Writ (talk) 00:04, 27 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Got it, working on your materials, for which I am deeply grateful.
The article is being expanded and the materials you provided will be of great use.
I'm not closing this request yet because I suspect I may need some more materials. Szmenderowiecki (talk · contribs) 08:12, 27 February 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Extraordinary Writ, is there any chance you will be able to access Halsbury's Laws of England, as linked above? My uni access basically doesn't work. Szmenderowiecki (talk · contribs) 10:55, 2 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Szmenderowiecki, looks like the Internet Archive has it here. Extraordinary Writ (talk) 17:50, 2 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]

I'm looking to add these sources to the article on Two Guns, Arizona. I doubt either of these books has more than two pages apiece on the topic, but the information they contain is valuable for several reasons and comes highly recommended by various researchers in their respective fields. For some reason, these books are hard to find. Thanks, Viriditas (talk) 22:26, 1 April 2026 (UTC)[reply]

This is another publication that would help with my work on the article Poecilia velifera. I am mainly interested in the page that mentions the orange color (naranja), which Google Books says exists but it will not show it to me or even tell me which page that is. I suspect that the entire bit about P. velifera is only a few pages long, so perhaps more than one page would not be too much either? :)

I actually have the results for these two championships; what I need are the cities that hosted the events.

This is an article that I have been meaning to expand but I can't find scholars discussing it despite being written by a very famous author (Fullmetal Alchemist) and being based on very old novel with the same title. I think it started serialization around a decade ago and is still ongoing. I keep finding the characters discussing religion, genders, tabboos, etc. but I couldn't find one big scholar that might help. "Erach Rediscovered: Coins, Inscriptions, Seals and Sealings", by Om Prakash Lal Srivastava

[edit]

This is a weird request because I know what I'm looking for in the book, but I have no idea where it is. It's for the article on Erich, Uttar Pradesh, which currently claims in the lead section, without attribution, that the town was called "Erikachha" or "Erakachha" in ancient times. Srivastava's book is basically about the archaeology of the site, and it says on its back cover that it was an ancient city-state called Erakachha. So basically what I'm looking for is whichever pages contain the statement that Erich=Erakachha, along with whatever evidence he's basing it on (I'm assuming it's inscriptions on coins, based on the back cover). I don't know what pages these things would be on, though.

They apparently have a copy of this book at the New York Public Library (basically the only place I could find it), so maybe someone in that area could get access and find out which pages this is on? Alternatively, if someone in India happens to have access to a copy of the book, then that could also work, although I can't find any information online about libraries in India that have it.

This is probably a lot to ask, so I apologize in advance.

History and Culture of Andhra Pradesh, Page 82

[edit]

An editor insists that page 82 of this book supports the map added by them to the article Reddi Kingdom: File:Reddi KIngdom at its peakl.jpg. I would like someone to verify that, since the map seems to exaggerate the borders. If there is no map on page 82, can you also check if there is any such map in the chapter "Reddi Kingdoms" (pages 82-91)?

Note: There are several reprints of this book with different years, but I believe the content is exactly same, down to the page numbers.

Hello everyone,

I am currently working on improving and creating several articles related to the postal history of Malta on the German Wikipedia.

Unfortunately, this title does not appear to be available in libraries in the D-A-CH region.

I am specifically looking for the following pages (or relevant excerpts):

pp. 27–28, 33, 35, 62–63, 75–76, 79, 183–193, 259, 270, 281, 286–288, 295, 299.

The material will be used to support well-sourced improvements to the articles listed above, particularly regarding early postal history, classic issues, and fiscal/postal usage in Malta.

If anyone has access to this book (e.g. via a university library, private collection, or digital access), I would greatly appreciate any help, summaries, or excerpts from the requested sections.

Please feel free to contact me via Wikipedia email if needed.

Thank you very much in advance!

1955 Indonesian election

[edit]

For 1955 Indonesian legislative election. I originally found out about this book through a citation in Regime Change and Ethnic Politics in Indonesia: Dayak Politics of West Kalimantan (2012). I am hoping that this book has detailed results of the 1955 elections by city/regency (kota/kabupaten in Indonesian) as this information does not seem to be available anywhere online, with this map being an exception. However the map has the wrong boundaries and its source seems to be this gif file which has no source attached.

Thanks, Kaythehistorian (talk) 16:39, 14 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately, this book is print only and the only Indonesian library I found with this book in its catalogue is the library of an obscure and far away university in North Sumatra. However, according to WorldCat, the book is available in ~30 something libraries outside of Indonesia. Most notably, at the New York Public Library, Leiden University, Cornell University, Yale University, the Library of Congress, the ISEAS – Yusof Ishak Institute, and etc. Kaythehistorian (talk) 16:49, 14 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Sourcing 1968 medical paper from RCOG Library London: Dr. Ahmed K. Naim

[edit]

I am seeking assistance to obtain a scan or clear photos of a historical 1968 medical article by my father, Dr. Ahmed K. Naim (the library noted the physical reprint might use an alternate spelling of "Ahmed" or "Ahmad").

The article is completely offline and holds zero modern digital footprint. However, the library team at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) in London confirmed they physically hold it. Unfortunately, they are short-staffed and have not answered remote inquiries.

Here are the precise archival citation details:

  • **Journal:** Journal of the Kuwait Medical Association, 1968, Vol. 2, Pages 191-193.
  • **Article Title:** "Kuwait maternity hospital"
  • **RCOG Internal Reference Code:** [Library collection MP 1968/13]

If any editor with physical access to the RCOG resource center in London, or an archivist with access to their internal systems, could check this folder and provide the pages, it would be deeply appreciated. Thank you. Mohamed Naim (talk) 14:45, 24 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

German eel soup name

[edit]
  • Kopitzsch, Franklin; Tilgner, Daniel, eds. (2005) [1998]. Hamburg Lexikon (in German) (3rd ed.). Zeiseverlag. ISBN 3-8319-0179-1.

For Eel soup, the page Aalsuppe [de] on the German wiki claims (machine translated)

It is often claimed that Hamburg eel soup traditionally does not contain eel, but was rather a kind of leftover dish where everything in the kitchen was thrown in (or " everything goes in"), hence the name. The eel as a fish was said to be a concession to the city's visitors so as not to disappoint them. This is a legend with a folk etymological basis, for which there is no evidence. However, there is a similarly prepared soup without eel, called "suur Supp " ("sour soup").

This book is cited (without a page), hoping to verify and have a page to cite. Thanks, Whonting (talk) 09:54, 29 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Source lookup: 1970 Al-Ahram Archive for Dr. Ahmed Kamel Naim

[edit]

For Draft:Ahmed Kamel naim

Hello, could someone with access to the East View Al-Ahram Digital Archive (1970) help me check for a news clipping?

I am trying to locate an article about my father, Dr. Ahmed Kamel Naim (د. أحمد كامل نعيم). He was elected directly to the MRCOG/FRCOG at the Royal College meeting on January 30–31, 1970. Al-Ahram covered it at the time, noting he was the 2nd Egyptian and 3rd Arab to achieve this honor without exams.

Could someone please run a quick keyword search in the 1970 archive database for:

  • "أحمد كامل نعيم" (Ahmed Kamel Naim)
  • "ثاني مصري" (Second Egyptian)

I have declared my COI on the draft talk page. Finding this missing piece will be a huge help to get the references where they need to be.

Thanks, Mohamed Naim (talk) 17:52, 30 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Mohamed Naim, I followed your instructions but didn't find anything. I'm not sure how good the Arabic-language OCR is, though, so it may still be in there. If there's a different query you'd like me to try, let me know. Extraordinary Writ (talk) 06:03, 31 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you soon much Extraordinary ,really appreciate your help. Though I read that Al-Ahram article by myself back in the seventies but yes the Arabic OCR might easily miss. The actual certificate date is 12th of June 1970, he was working in Kuwait at that time (Director of the new Maternity Hospital), so there is a good possibility that it was announced on different Kuwaiti newspapers (like Al-Qabas,Al-Rai al-Aam and others),he occasionally appeared in regional news reports regarding public health and medical administration(1961-1987).
If you or any other editors with access to regional or Gulf archives are open to running a broader search, some helpful alternative keywords might be:
"أحمد نعيم" (Ahmed Naim)
"الزماله الفخريه" (Honorary Fellow)
"مستشفى الولادة" (Maternity Hospital)
"مدير الإدارة المركزية" (Director of Central Administration)
"تشغيل المستشفيات الجديدة" (Commissioning/Operationalizing new hospitals)
"نعيم" (Naim)
No worries at all if this is outside your scope—your first check was already a huge help, appreciated. Mohamed Naim (talk) 13:21, 31 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Also, a quick note regarding his international work: I have his physical certificate for the Mauritanian Medal of Honor (Médaille d'honneur, 3e classe), awarded by presidential decree 137/D/83 on November 16, 1983, for his role in healthcare infrastructure.
If anyone has access to the Mauritanian state newspaper Al-Chaab (الشعب) or North African archives, a quick search for his name "أحمد نعيم" alongside "وسام الشرف" would be a massive help to find a secondary citation for this award.
Thanks again Mohamed Naim (talk) 13:51, 31 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]

1 is ISSN 1694-0105. Note that Transactions is an earlier version of the journal that is mixed in at WorldCat, but Proceedings does seem to exist. ARandomName123 (talk)Ping me! 17:23, 31 May 2026 (UTC)[reply]
