Dear Self from 2017 to 2018

Dear Self,

As we end the 2017 and welcome 2018, I would like to remind you to just keep on your toes and always stay positive. Stay away from negative people. You may be hated by some (and that’s a fact! ) because you are intimidating or they just do not know your story as they only see what is on social media and hear from others. But hey!
You are not here on earth to please everyone, Do not be a people pleaser! You are here to do the best that you can to be a good mother and wife, daughter and sister and a friend. They can judge you, hate you and neglect you, but only God knows that you have a good heart.
Continue on improving your self, continue to do a little bit better everyday, patch some differences with the people you love and love you. Continue to understand everyone shortcomings, continue to be a good leader. Be more open to changes, communicate both in words and gestures, love more, laugh more. Be healthy and eat healthy. If it feels wrong don’t do it. All this may sound to good to be true and you may skip on some of the list you have set, but that’ ok, just remember to bounce back and know what you want and how to achieve it. Don’t forget to pray and be thankful for everyday because life should not be only lived, it should be celebrated!
Be nice and forget all the drama. Claim that 2018 will be the best year for you and your love ones!

Bring it on 2018!

Privacy Versus Secrecy in Marriage?

Long hiatus is over and I am so back in writing again. I miss this! 🙂

The first topic I would like to go into is something about Relationship.

I have been reading articles and other blogs about this topic. I am not a Marriage Counselor nor affiliated with counselling or anything, this is just a simple standpoint from woman who feels for a spouse or partner like me.

Me and my husband is married for almost 10 years and like the other couples, we have a lot of arguments and small fights, there are even times that we ask and provoke each other if we want to just be separated, but  we’d patch things up with proper and constant communication. I guess that is just normal and will make your marriage stronger.

What made me interested to write something about the difference of Privacy and Secrecy is because of my encounter and somewhat experience with the red flags that I immediately embedded. Issues will happen all through out your marriage life, but it’s up to you and your partner’s willingness to rectify the issue.

I’ve dealt and seen different types of married people and I cannot speak on their behalf because different person has their own reasons why they choose to kept secrets and set their boundaries with their partners.

I wanted to put a disclaimer here that I am not judging anyone who had experience and choose to do things that they think is just fine.

This quote from -Unveiled Wife- got me.

” In an era where technology has made ourselves virtually available to anyone.. We need accountability.”

Healthy Relationship will not exist without mutual respect for each others privacy although Privacy in marriage is fine Secrecy is a No No!

In order for you to have a strong and healthy relationship, you must strive to create a SECRET FREE environment with your partner. If you eliminate secrets, then your partner won’t feel the need to snoop.

Here are some of the red flags that requires immediate attention between you and your partner.

I’ve outsourced some of this interesting red flags from www.marriagebuilders.com

  • Refusing to give your spouse or partner your password to your computer, social networks or cellphone records. That would trigger almost anyone’s curiosity. What’s my spouse trying to hide? Although it’s still best to get a permission from your partner that you will access his/her account and check on something, one should not give a negative reaction if there is nothing to hide.
  • This is my favorite part – Don’t have close friends of the opposite sex. Your spouse should be your best and closest friend. And be sure that your spouse enthusiastically approves the friends you do have. Having a close friend of the opposite sex can be questionable because that’s how most affairs develop. An opposite-sex friend at work or a previous friend can be someone you are with recreationally, or someone you simply enjoy talking to about almost anything is the person to whom you are most likely to become emotionally attached. Even if you say that there is nothing wrong with it, it is not safe to get your self attached to someone which is the opposite sex.

For me Prevention is better than cure.

  • Don’t be separated overnight. But if it’s impossible to avoid, create precautions that would make having an affair while you’re apart essentially impossible. Learn to trust and both should remember the word integrity.
  • Avoid drinking to excess and going to parties by yourself. And when you go to a party together, stick together throughout the evening.

No marriage and relationship is perfect, but we must know that transparency will save us from having future issues, if we know that someone is trying to tempt us and step in we must learn to resist and think about the consequences. It will only happen if you let it happen and again if you keep secrets to your partner, then the more you will be tempted to lie. We should keep the spark and love in our relationship and never stop exploring and exchanging ideas on how we can be better moving forward. At the end of the day, the love for each other will save us.

Matrix Hair Color and Rebond at Dot Zero Hair Studio by Mars

Hi there gorgeous! It’s been a while since I posted something about my Salon experience after my Keratin Therapy at Edwin Lisa that lasted only for 6 months. I’ve to admit that I am not blessed with easy to manage and perfect straight hair, the fact that it was damage with my previous rebond, steam bond, digiperm, color, cellophane and all kinds of hair treatment and other vainglorious indulgences.

Please see my hair condition ” Too-Damaged-From-All-The-Chemical-Dyes ” kind and you will definitely agree that I need to revive this until it finally die 😦

Abused State

Abused State

And now since my hair is back on it’s used and abused state, I need to look for another hair treatment slash taming sesh. I’ve decided to look around, read blogs, reviews and promo’s online and I found this #marseffect on Facebook, so It hit me and I have to check what is this #marseffect that they are all talking about.

image

They have promo for Rebond, Brazillian Blowout, Keratherapy, and Steambond. It catches my attention because they are offering 2 weeks hair warranty and they also do 2 sessions for rebond and hair color, when I ask the stylist why it has to be 2 sesh, he said that rebond for example is a major operation albeit it straightens your hair, it makes it weaker and adding color will not do any better, he said that we need to wait at least 10 days after rebonding before the application of another chemical. Made sense, Yes?

So after thinking and reading feedback’s which are most positive, I made up my mind and set an appointment once again. I availed the Diamond Package just so you know.

I arrived 9:30am and they started around 9:45am. After doing the assessment on my abuse state hair ( I know I know ) they started with the Opti.straight cream from Matrix

— Opti.straight is the specialist in-salon permanent Straightening product, that not only offers perfectly straight results but also conditions, for a healthy, naturally shiny look.

They gently apply it from the roots until the middle part of my hair only, this is to avoid more damage at the end of my strands.

These are the products used to ensure that I get what I paid for!

The Wonders of Matrix

The Wonders of Matrix

Hair 12 Hair 9

After the opti.straight cream for less than an hour, they rinse my hair, then the usual ironing follows which is really part of the rebond process, after that, they apply the Matrix Biolage with the Matrix Exquisite Oil for reconstructive treatment.

Matrix Biolage TreatmentBiolage.JPG 2

The Biolage treatment on my hair lasted for an hour longer compare to the opti.straight which was just 45 minutes, this is to focus and provide enough treatment for the ends that was not part of the coverage of the straightening product. Good enough!

I was just surprise because unlike other salon I’ve been to, they usually do the iron thing 2 to 3 times but my stylist Luis, ( he is from Piandre Salon by the way ) told me that it doesn’t make any sense to iron the hair multiple times because the Matrix Opti.straight will do it’s job to straighten the hair not the iron, plus it will just make the hair brittle due to the heat temperature.

So here is the partial result from my ” Used and Abused hair to a better straight and frizz free strands ” the color is still disturbing for me but I have to really wait 10 days or 2 weeks to have my hair color.

Hair 13Hair 6

So really I have to patiently wait for 10 days to make my hair ready for the color. Since Luis was not around when I set for my 2nd appointment, a different stylist handled my hair, but I wasn’t able to ask his name, the owner of the salon assisted them anyway.  They let me choose the “Ash Brown” to tone down the copper level of my hair and for a change as well. After the color application, I got a free L’Oreal proteline treatment.

I just also learned that the more you choose lighter blonde whether it’s ash blonde or dark golden blonde it will still eventually turn to copper’ish tone.

Hair 7 Hair 6

So there, I’ve got the the Matrix Rebond done for almost 4 hours on the 1st session and Color for an hour and a half on the 2nd session.

So far the experience was good, I really like the ambiance and accessibility of the place, the price is worth it for a branded product, they seems knowledgeable with what they are doing and has friendly staff. The only thing I would probably suggest moving forward is to be more transparent with the clients, with the step by step procedure and
to have the initiative to explain about the chemicals being used, because nowadays most of the clients are not 1st timer anymore and they are most likely had experience with other salons, products, treatments and stylist.

I’ll be posting an update about my hair condition after 2 weeks perhaps since it’s still covered by warranty.

Beauty and Designer Brands – Pronunciation Guide

Are you one of the beauty hoard and junkies for branded make ups, bags, shoes and all girly stuff? Have you experience pronouncing them and asking yourself if you said it right? If your answer is YES like me, then you better check this out, albeit this brands I am referring to are those luxurious and literally worth one paycheck.

While I am checking some of the vouchers from my BDJ 2015 planner, I’ve came across the brands that I always see and use but still doubting myself if I am pronouncing them right!

So I found a not so complete list online and sum up only those what I usually see at the mall, magazines, blogs and brands I’ve use and been using right now.

Jaunt for the Perfect Pair ( I’m Shoe in Love Bazaar Experience )

So I am back from long hiatus and I hope it’s not yet late to share my not so like finding nemo, I mean finding a perfect pair experience at the I’m Shoe in L♥ve Bazaar” last weekend August 1-2 2015 at SMX convention center Hall 3. Different brands locals and international and online sellers participated and showcase their latest collections and last seasons markdown such as S&H, Nike,Adidas,Suki,Tutumshop,Cole Vintage, Keds, Therapy, Trunkshow, Tonic, Skechers, Sperry, Shoo in, Shoptilyoulikeit and many more.

The booth was open 10am and I was surprise that it has free entrance, unlike other bazaar I visited for the past months. By the way I’m Shoe in L♥ve Bazaar” is already on it’s year 5, this is when the shoe-crazed come together with one common goal which is to find their perfect pair.

Inside you will not only see variety of shoes but different clothing brands, local and branded bags, purses and wallets. Compare to other bazaar, it’s not crowded and food stalls are inside so you can eat while doing the shopping. I tried to stop myself from buying a lot since my only purpose there is to check the venue and just buy 1 pair of comfy strappies for casual days in the office, though temptations are everywhere, I was drooling over the brands of bags I see, which is very affordable compare if you buy it in the mall or online, same as the wallets and accessories, but I have to stick to the budget and guess what?I did! yay!

What’s important was I’ve experience the feeling to go with the crazy shoe shoppers and manage to buy just 1 perfect pair for me.

Here are some of the photo’s I got inside the venue.

Super Mom – Life of a Wife with a Husband who is miles away from home ~

I suddenly thought of writing something about my situation at this moment, which I know most of the Mom’s out there will definitely feel and felt how to be in this shoes.

My husband is working abroad in KSA for 10 months now and I would say that we are able to grin and bear it emotionally, physically and financially. Like everyone else, sacrificing is the word, if you want to give what is best for your kids and the whole family, albeit it was hellishly tough.

Unlike other couples, 10 months is too short to give such complain as if you’ve gone dealing with the situation for years, but I don’t think it makes more different regardless of how long you are away from the person you love, because missing someone makes you feel helpless. But as what they say, “distance makes the heart grows ponder” yeah right, you are loving them even more!

Why Super Mom? because It is only when you think that you have to do all of the things that supposed to be a Mom and Dad is doing for the kids? For example as a working Mother it is imperative that you have someone with you doing the chores at home, especially if you don’t have a helper or nanny, attending the meeting for school, being present for school activities, family day, disciplining the kids, helping them with the projects, assignment, exams, guiding them while growing up and that is the most challenging part. I am just  thankful that I’ve decided to live with my parents again while hubby is away because they are helping me with the kids though there are a lot of things that we to need to consider. Who would you trust the most to take care of the person you brought into this world? Definitely it’s the same person who also brought you to this world right? Your parents! 🙂

Now talking about your life as a wife with no husband for 2 years? I don’t know how everyone would react on this because they probably has the idea on how to deal with it positively, but coming from a 1st timer like me, it was indeed a scramble for the fist 3 months, I mean how about the movie dates? ” Us time ” snuggles in the morning? lunch or dinner date? stay at home bonding and all these and that clingy thing you do as couples, it’s just gonna be you every time you need to buy something in the mall? unless your girlfriends are available, and no more late night story and cravings with them for 2 years? well 14 more months for me though.

So we are trying to keep it as a secret ~ Photo Credits to : http://unstablecradle.blogspot.com/2013/09/supermom-they-still-need-super-man.html

So we are trying to keep it as a secret ~

Life’s perplexity will always be present, we struggle, we fight, we missed someone, we feel alone and sometimes we just think of giving up and forget everything around us. But life is still awesome, because no matter how hard to compromise, God will still pull of something to bless you in ways that you will not expect.

I just want to share the article I’ve read about Surviving the Married life for Long Distance Couples that inspires me to write this blog.

1. Make a “reasons why” list for tough decision.

2.Avoid playing the “who has it harder” game.

3. Find the best time to talk and avoid the worst times.

4. Be spontaneous when showing your love.

5. Find a hobby that is just for you.

6.But beware on taking on too much.

Continue to stay positive, take care of your self, give importance to your health and stay fit. Do not let sadness swallow you and keep your self busy and productive, with that, things will turn out the way you planned it to be , not every thing but at least close to what we want for our selves and our family, particularly the kids and our husband. Trust each other, learn to listen and share. Accept and learn from your mistakes and one of the most important part is constant communication, nothing is impossible now with our high and wide range  technology. Lastly, pray for guidance safety and protection of everyone in the family.

Yes, nobody said it was easy but we always have to look on the brighter side of the picture or other side of the coin. Situations may differ and vary depending on how you look at it and how you accept it.

I’ve learned and still learning a lot and trust me you can do the same thing, you will surely learn the ropes along the way.

“Magalawadventure” – The Magalawa Island, Palauig Zambales Adventure

I can’t help but share our recent jaunt last weekend at the Island of Magalawa in Palauig Zambales. Being a 1st timer I can’t contain my excitement when my friends invited me for an overnight camping with some other new-found friends. So I immediately request for my 1 day VL and set my schedule to leave the kids for 2 days and be ready for my not so late summer adventure!

Magalawa is an island lying 6 km northwest of Poblacion. Surrounding the island is the China Sea. Beyond the north is the San Salvador Island of Masinloc and on the east is Sitio Luan, Lipay. It is known for beautiful beaches. Magalawa is 56 hectares in area.

Getting There :

Option 1 – With Private Vehicle

  • Take the Northern Luzon Expressway (NLEX) to the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway(SCTEX).
  • Then, take the Subic Bay Freeport Expressway to connect with the National Road. Follow the signs to Iba.
  • As you pass by Iba Market, head north towards Amungan Triangle (Palauig Junction 1)
  • Or keep right towards Banlog Triangle (Palauig Junction 2).
  • From Banlog Triangle keep right and then head north to Pangolingan by passing Mt. Tapulao signage, Zameco Electric
  • Cooperative and crossing Brgy Salaza bridge.
  • After the Salaza Bridge you will see at the right side of the road the “Welcome to Pangolingan” signage.
  • Slow down while going up to the road and look for the rough road with waiting shed and tricycle todas at the left side.
  • Turn left and take the Veritas Road going to Luan. Look for the Oslet Armada Fishdealer Compound in Brgy. Luan.
  • From Oslet Armada Fishdealer Compound, take a mini boat going to Magalawa Island, travel time is approx 10mins.
  • Parking Fee/Charges: 100/vehicle c/o OSMAN or LET 09166902691

Option 2 – For Commuters

  • From Manila, take a Sta Cruz, Zambales bound bus (Victory Liner).
  • Drop off point is Brgy. Pangolingan, Palauig (cor Radio Veritas Road).
  • Take a tricycle going to Oslet Armada Fishdealer Compound in Brgy Luan.
  • Odet Tricycle TODA station – 09197484325 or 09205105447
  • From Oslet Armada Fishdealer Compound, take a mini boat going to Magalawa Island, travel time is approx 10mins.
On our way to Magalawa - approaching NLEX

On our way to Magalawa Island approaching NLEX

So we have decided to go on an overnight trip at the Island last May 30-31 with my BFF’s Dhes and Krizh along with the new friends we met from Two Monkeys Travel Group or the group named Kaladkarins. We rented a van and left Cavite at around 5:30am. We are at North Luzon Expressway at exactly 6:30am.

Breakfast at McDonald's Subic Bay

Breakfast at McDonald’s Subic Bay

Before heading further North, we ate breakfast at McDonald’s Subic Bay as we arrived there around 9am. Our expected time of arrival in the Island was supposed to be between 11-12noon just in time for lunch but our travel time took almost 9 hours just because our GPS did not cooperate with us, plus the rough road made our driver almost give up. It was hellishly tough to stay inside the van assuming and counting the KM and minutes we have to wait before we reach our destination, we tried to sleep but literally we can’t. Lol 🙂 But thank you to my Bhesie Krizh for being our stand up comedienne the entire trip, all she did was to make us laugh.. I mean our ass off 😀

Maga 15

It was exactly 2:00pm when we arrived at Armada Resort and took the boat going to the Island, good thing the late lunch is ready.  What I enjoyed the most is the desert which is the ” TNJ Caramel Bar ”  it tasted like Max’s caramel bar, I thought that was only available in Zambales but some friends told me that it is also available in the supermarkets and grocery stores in Manila.

It’s not a perfect timing when we arrived at the resort because its raining and we have to wait for the drizzle to stop before we can set up our tent. But after 30 minutes the weather gave us a chance and let us enjoy few hours before sunset.

It was really a nice and clean beach, though Boracay’s beach is incomparable when it comes to it’s finest white sand, but what I like about here is the water is not  salty ( I did not get allergy after we dipped in ) quiet and uncrowded, best place to relax and spend the summer weekend with friends and family. I just hope that they fixed and improved the rough road soon on Armada compound so it wouldn’t be difficult for the travelers. More bathrooms and toilet also is very important to those who stayed in tents, if you did not avail of the room package.

But over all It was a good experience though..

Fashion Hauls from Trendsetters Bazaar – May 15-17 2015

image

Hi gorgeous readers! It’s been a week since my last post. It was a stressful yet productive week for us so I think we deserved some time off and treat ourselves for some goodies.

Have you heard about the word  ” Retail Therapy ”  for sure some of you have dealt with this kind of what we called distressing for girls, according to Wikipedia it’s a shopping with the primary purpose of improving the buyer’s mood or disposition. Often seen in people during periods of depression or stress, it is normally a short-lived habit. Items purchased during periods of retail therapy are sometimes referred to as “comfort buys”

Indeed whenever I buy stuff not just for me personally but for love ones and friends, it gives me a different kind of happiness, probably something in my hormones. Laughs 😀

Anyway, you’ve heard the most talked about Bazaar last weekend? It’s the Trendsetters Bazaar, me and my sissies went there together with my 7 year old daughter.

Actually this is my first time to check on this event, though I’ve been seeing and hearing a lot about this on Social Media, so we decided to try.  The question is? what made the fashionista’s  go crazy about this Bazaar? To think that the entrance fee is P100.00, which at first I thought is too much since you’ll go there to buy items from their seller yet you have to pay extra for the entrance? but oh! this is going to be your raffle entry at the same time, for the prizes in store for the customer’s, unfortunately with our 4 stubs I didn’t get anything, so better luck next time.  😦

My 1st impression..

When you enter the World Trade Center, you will see a lot of stalls for foods and different goodies outside the lobby which I find a little pricey, probably because they are paying the rent? OK, what happened after we pay the entrance fee and enter the air conditioned place? Well you can see more stalls of known sellers from Instagram like I Love Koi, Vanilla Breeze, Tutum Shop, Shoptilyoulikeit, Style Hood, Kara Zapatos, Theartefacts, Lovetostyle, Jewels and Blings and many more.

It looks like the typical Bazaar / Tiangge when you get to visit and shop on this kind of market, and again at first, nothing special. However when we started getting around and check on the prices, this is the part that turns my excited mode on and forced to check for more, you will see bags ( Oh Bags! ) *drooling, shoes, sandals, trendy clothes, organic products, make up, imported goodies and everything that can catch your attention everywhere.

My only thought is confirming the authenticity of some branded items they have, and take note that most of the sellers, speak in English, I mean it’s literally the maarteng English.

Here are the dresses I found ( These are sold to friends as well )

I also bought some accessories from Jewels and Blings LovetoStyle and Shoptilyoulikeit, and I like them!

Here are some of the items I scored from different seller's.

Here are some of the items I scored from different seller’s.

So what’s my verdict on this?

Prices are great! sellers are nice and friendly, variation of the items for sale are kind of limited, no receipt or anything to reference what you bought ( in cases of return or exchange, let say the item is damage and you did not notice ). Foods outside is pricey,  Trendsetters team does not reply on your inquiry or comments on IG or FB at all ( late response will be appreciated at least there is an acknowledgement but then it’s Nada* ). But over all since I love on splurging on sale items, I will visit their Bazaar again on September ( If I am not mistaken ) because of the good finds. I just hope that the team could be more approachable and responsive moving forward 😀

Have a great weekend ahead!
