Saint-Nazaire change le monde ! Première bonne nouvelle : Accor a mis à l’eau le plus grand voilier du monde, l’Orient Express Corinthian. Un deuxième est prévu à l’été 2027. On April 29th, ORIENT EXPRESS and Chantiers de l'Atlantique, celebrated the naming of Orient Express Corinthian, the world’s largest sailing yacht, at the Joubert graving dock in Saint-Nazaire.     The ceremony opened with an aerial salute by four Fouga Magister jets in the colours of the French flag, followed by the hoisting of the SolidSail masts. Catherine Chabaud, Minister Delegate for the Sea and Fisheries, formally presented the French ensign to Laurent Castaing, Chief Executive Officer of Chantiers de l’Atlantique, granting the vessel the right to fly the French colours.     At the heart of the ceremony, Laurent Castaing entrusted the ship to Sébastien Bazin, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Accor, and PHILIPPE HETLAND BRAULT, Orient Express Sailing Yachts President. Sébastien Bazin then entrusted command to Éric Saint-Plancat, as the colours were raised to the strains of La Marseillaise. The ceremony concluded with the blessing by Monseigneur Nicolas and the traditional breaking of a Balthazar.     The ship will depart Saint-Nazaire on 2 May 2026 for the French Riviera, ahead of its inaugural Mediterranean season sailing the Mediterranean and Adriatic, before crossing to the Caribbean for winter.     Designed by Architect Maxime D'Angeac, Artistic Director of Orient Express, Orient Express Corinthian reveals 54 suites ranging from 45 to 230 m², set across four decks conceived as serene private sanctuaries at sea.     Five restaurants and private dining rooms under the culinary direction of the world’s most Michelin-starred chef, Yannick Alléno, alongside a Guerlain spa, a 16.5-metre swimming lane, a pool and a marina, complete the experience on board.     Born of the strategic partnership between Accor and LVMH, and the expertise of Chantiers de l'Atlantique, this 220-metre sailing yacht embodies the essence of innovation and craftmanship: ORIENT EXPRESS, the Artisan of Travel. Artisan of Travel since 1883, Orient Express presents its vision at MAD Paris until April 26, 2026. At the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, “1925–2025: One Hundred Years of Art Deco” celebrates a century in which craftsmanship met innovation, and elegance became a philosophy. Behind the Scenes of L'ORIENT EXPRESS Express | Episode 2: The Artisans of Carton-Pierre Under the artistic direction of Architect Maxime D'Angeac, Artistic Director of ORIENT EXPRESS, the brand brings together exceptional savoir-faire, shaping a contemporary vision rooted in heritage. In Tours, ATELIER D'OFFARD revives the art of carton-pierre — once used in the ornamentation of France’s great châteaux. Reinterpreting Suzanne Lalique-Haviland’s iconic Rail motif, the atelier composes sculptural wall panels for the restaurant car. Over 1,200 gilded elements, crafted from recycled paper, are individually molded, carved, and gilded by hand. Light settles into the relief. Texture reveals depth. Through this material, form and ornament become one — extending the language of ORIENT EXPRESS from trains to sailing yachts. A leading figure in European fine dining and a Three Michelin-starred chef, Heinz Beck and Beck & Maltese Consulting team will curate and sign every culinary experience within the historic Venetia Palazzo, From the signature gastronomic restaurant to more relaxed dining venues and reception spaces, his approach brings together technical precision, clarity of flavor, and a constant pursuit of balance and lightness. Drawing inspiration from the Venetian lagoon and the surrounding territory, his cuisine reflects a refined interpretation of Mediterranean ingredients and Italian culinary tradition.
