A11yhood is a community platform for discovering, reviewing, and discussing open-source assistive technologies. A11yhood serves as a central hub for disabled and non-disabled makers, developers, and contributors to find, use, and contribute to accessibility projects.
A11yhood was developed as part of the Center for Research and Education on Accessible Technology and Experiences (CREATE) Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center under a grant from the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR grant number 90REGE0026), with additional support from the Github through the Tides Foundation.

Our mission is to build capacity, increase the adoption of assistive technologies by users, and provide technical assistance for people with disabilities their communities.
Our goals are to:
- Centralize community resources for open-source assistive technologies in a searchable, accessible format.
- Cultivate accessible, community-driven development of open-source technologies.
- Increase the ability for people with disabilities to access technology.
- Establish a community of learning and support for open-source accessibility solutions.
A11yhood currently supports the following features
- Product Discovery: Automated scraping from GitHub, Ravelry and Thingiverse; product additions by users as well
- User Collections: Users can create and share curated collections of accessibility products
- Review System: Star ratings and discussions of products
- User Profiles: Public profiles showcasing contributions and collections
