This set of repositories contains various tools, simulation results and references about the use of the Internet Protocol suite for deep space networking. See more information at: https://deepspaceip.github.io.
DIPT is the set of software tools used for simulating and implementing IP in deep space. It consists of:
- DIPT QUIC Workbench: a simulator of networks and links events using a profiled QUIC for deep space
- DIPT SCHC Implementation: An implementation of the Static Context Header Compression(SCHC protocol to use on deep space links
- DIPT HTTP Implementation: An HTTP client and server implementation over deep space profiled QUIC
- DIPT Netconf Proxy over QUIC Implementation: an implementation of a netconf proxy over QUIC enabling netconf over deep space links
- Deepspace Quiche: A fork of the Quiche QUIC stack, modified by adding a noop congestion controller. Tested successfully against Quinn over deep space scenarios.
- Deepspace Swift Network Evolution (Apple QUIC implementation): A fork of Apple's Swift Network Evolution QUIC stack, modified by exposing initial_rtt and initial_mtu APIs and fixing a network receiving bug. Tested successfully against Quinn and Quiche over deep space scenarios.
- QUIC in Deepspace Simulations: Simulations of QUIC in various deepspace scenarios, such as Moon, Mars, cruising spacecraft, with or without intermittence (aka orbiters), measuring/setting various QUIC configuration parameters under various conditions, including packet loss, bandwidth, ... These used the DIPT QUIC Workbench simulator.
