I’ve been working with computers for almost 40 years and programming for the web since 1996. In the front end, I am well-versed in HTML, including HTML5, and Javascript and Typescript, including ES6, jQuery, and React; on the back end, I work primarily in Python, MySQL, and Postgres, with additional experience in PHP and Ruby. I'm versed in a variety of frameworks for each, and I have also worked with Ruby (including Rails), Node.js, and Angular.
I have a bachelor’s degree in Classical Studies from Earlham College, and experience in live theater - on and off stage. Additionally, I have worked with statistics and data management, and am published both scholastically and in fiction. All of this helps me bring a unique perspective to my programming and development.
Since 2023, I've been working as a senior engineer and tech lead, supporting a legacy Python/Django/React stack. Before that, I worked primarily as a contractor so that I could maintain my parents' house and raise my child as a single parent.
I can only consider remote work. Barring special needs, I do not need extra equipment to work from home.
