#UPI transactions reached a record high of 24.51 billion in August 2026, totaling ₹29.82 trillion. The latest milestone data was released on Tuesday by the National Payments Corporation of India (#NPCI) This was the second consecutive month in which UPI posted a record transaction volume, after clocking 23.66 billion transactions worth ₹29.88 trillion in July. India’s private sector #manufacturing activity expanded at its slowest pace in five years in August as weak demand slowed sales, output and hiring, a private survey showed on Tuesday. HSBC’s India Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI), which tracks monthly changes, fell to 52.8 in August from 53.5 in July.
