Amit Dixit shared thisGrateful to The Harvard Crimson for sharing the story behind the Shobha Dixit Fellowship Fund, named in honor of my mother. As the father of two daughters, I’m especially proud that the fund supports Indian women pursuing an #MBA at Harvard Business School. I appreciated the chance to share how a fellowship once opened a door for me—and how that generosity has stayed with me. My hope is that this fellowship helps more talented Indian women see an #HBS MBA as within reach, giving them the confidence to apply while inspiring others to create similar opportunities. https://lnkd.in/dfASDaRsHBS Alumnus Amit Dixit Establishes MBA Fellowship for Indian Women | The Harvard CrimsonHBS Alumnus Amit Dixit Establishes MBA Fellowship for Indian Women | The Harvard Crimson

Amit Dixit shared thisSo heartbreaking to read about the loss of Nims Purja. If you watch “14 Peaks” you will feel a deep connection with him. What discipline. What resolve. And a deep connection with his mother and family. He brought mountaineering glory to where it always belonged — the Gurkhas from Nepal. And, of course, achieved an incredible feat of climbing the 14 highest peaks without oxygen in six months. RIP Nims. You are a hero!

Amit Dixit liked thisAmit Dixit liked this“We moved our entire life from the US to India. Five years later, we brought home a little girl who had been rejected for her deformed feet… But Nisha wasn’t the reason we came to India. Or at least, we didn’t know she was. Tim and I got married in 2016 and came to India for three months. We fell in love with the country, but what stayed with us was seeing so many children who needed a home. That was when we first spoke about adopting a child in India. We went back to the US, got caught up with life, careers, family and COVID, but India never really left our hearts. So, in 2021, we sold our house and moved here. We learnt Hindi, made friends, built a life and even welcomed our third daughter, Sophia, in Delhi in 2023. Yet, something still felt incomplete. That’s when we knew it was time to adopt. The process took months. And when we finally got the clearance to see the children’s files, I found it incredibly difficult. There were so many children who needed families, especially children with special needs. Choosing one meant knowing we couldn’t take them all home. Then, I saw Nisha. She had been rejected because of her deformed feet. When we found out she was living in an orphanage just three hours away, Tim and I went to meet her. The moment I held her, I burst into tears. There was no big decision or long conversation. I just knew she was our daughter. For the next three months, I stared at her picture every single day, waiting for the call that would tell us she was finally ours. We didn’t even know if she would make it home in time for Christmas. But we put up the tree and bought her presents anyway. And on Christmas Eve, Nisha finally came home. Her sisters couldn’t wait to meet her. They played with her, spoiled her and loved her as though she had always been a part of our family. Since then, Nisha has had surgery and treatment for her legs. And recently, she took her first few steps with her prosthetic. I’ll never forget the look on her face. For years, we wondered why we felt so strongly about moving to India. Now, I think we know. Maybe we didn’t come to India to find a new home. Maybe we came here to find our real one.” Featuring: Kristen Fischer

Amit Dixit liked thisAmit Dixit liked thisBlackstone has been doing real estate IPOs almost every year since 2019. India’s first-ever Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) was a Blackstone production too. In total, Blackstone has been behind 7 real estate IPOs, including 5 REITs. What’s even more amazing is that India has only 6 listed REITs in total, with 5 of them backed by Blackstone. These 6 REITs distribute ₹10,000 Cr+ annually in dividends and manage around 200 Mn+ square feet of Grade-A commercial real estate in India. India has around 1 Bn square feet of office space, with Grade-A offices accounting for nearly 55% of the total. REITs now manage roughly 200 Mn square feet of this Grade-A stock. The US, Japan and Singapore have already laid out the playbook for REITs. Globally, the REIT market spans over 40 countries, with more than 1,000 listed entities representing over $2 trillion in combined equity market capitalisation. .. REITs are a convenient investment option that allows investors to access real estate assets through publicly traded units, without directly owning the properties. REITs own and manage premium commercial assets such as Grade-A office spaces, shopping malls and business parks. Occupiers pay rent under lease agreements for these properties, while investors earn returns through periodic income distributions and potential capital appreciation over time. And who are these occupiers? Some of the biggest corporates in the world. From JPMorgan to Nvidia, global companies are building their GCCs in India, creating structural demand for Grade-A office space and, consequently, REITs. Amit Dixit, Tuhin Parikh and Asheesh Mohta identified the GCC and institutional real estate opportunity in India very early. Blackstone runs $50 bn AUM in India, with $30 bn in real estate and balance in top engineering firms of India. While the Private Equity team backs the companies where Indian engineering talent works, Real estate buy the office space that houses this talent. And that has generated substantial returns for Blackstone. A pure play integrated strategy at scale. Blackstone is not just participating in India’s REIT market, it is helping build the market itself. .. Follow Navin Agarwal for more such insights on Energy and Finance!

I really enjoyed catching up with him on the HBS campus. In this conversation, he reflects on his HBS experience and how it has prepared him for the next chapter of his professional journey. Amit Dixit liked thisGreat conversation with Lisa Lee last week on many of the big issues impacting credit markets. Thanks to the Debtwire team for having me on Credit Exchange!Amit Dixit liked thisChris Wright, CEO and president of Crescent Capital, says US Treasury yields are spiking due to the higher risk of persistent inflation, on the latest episode of the Credit Exchange with Lisa Lee. “What you’re seeing is the repricing of long-term assets based on a recognition of a higher inflationary rate going forward,” says Chris, who helms the global alternative investment firm with over $50 billion of AUM. And the financing of growth in a more uncertain market is getting more expensive, he contends. We also discuss tie-up of insurance firms and credit asset managers, and why that model has gained in popularity, artificial intelligence and the huge capex spend, and the evolution of private credit funds. Across two days, the 64th Convocation at IIT Bombay celebrated graduates from across departments and the journeys that brought them to this milestone. It was a festival of learning, shared with families, faculty and mentors who shaped and supported every step along the way. Through his reflections, Prof. Shireesh Kedare, Director, IIT Bombay, looks back at a celebration filled with achievement, pride and possibility. The occasion also honoured inspiring journeys beyond the graduating class, with Padma Shri felicitations for Prof. Juzer Vasi and Mr. Shashi Shekhar V. and the National Teachers’ Award recognising Prof. Vikram Vishal. Amit Dixit liked thisAmit Dixit liked thisI just finished an incredible summer as a Marketing Insights Intern at E.L.F. BEAUTY! I worked across many projects – from social listening and TikTok Shop data to consumer research and competitive analysis. A highlight was our capstone project, where we developed an idea for e.l.f. to serve neurodivergent consumers through specific product innovation and tailored experiences. We were selected as one of the winners and got to present to Joshua Franks and Suzanne McGovern, gaining valuable perspectives from e.l.f.’s C-suite. Huge thanks to Dipika Sharma, Mame Ndiaye, Zahra Maroof, and Sofia Farmer for building this with me, and to Olivia Eva Reyes for running this amazing program. I had the chance to work with teams across innovation, R&D, and brand, and saw how “keeping the consumer at the heart of everything” plays out in practice. I was struck by how warm and open everyone at e.l.f. was, always willing to chat and share their perspectives. My wonderful manager, Jess Feinstein, shaped my entire experience. She taught me how to ask sharper questions, always dig for the why behind the data, and turn numbers into a story worth telling. Thank you also to the Insights team, Jessica Cilla, Whitney Bauer, Deepa Gowdar, Juliet Sage, and Johnny Genna, for being such thoughtful and generous mentors who fostered a culture of learning and collaboration. I am so grateful for my e.l.f.ternship and excited for my senior year!
