The Play-to-Own era has officially landed in India, turning 590 million gamers from players into stakeholders of their digital worlds. CoinDCX recently listed World of Dypians (WOD). A listing alone isn’t validation, it’s a commercial decision. But it did make me reflect on a more important question: what will actually make Web3 gaming work in India? The challenge has never been demand. It’s been product–market fit. India already has 590 million gamers, and ~150 million paying for in-game items, subscriptions, and battle passes. We lead globally in mobile game downloads, and skins and cosmetics are already mainstream behavior. Indian gamers value digital goods, they just don’t own them yet. The first wave of Web3 gaming failed because it prioritized tokens over gameplay. Earn-first models were never going to work for price-sensitive, utility-driven users. The problem was poor product design. What can work in India looks much closer to mainstream gaming. Games need to be genuinely fun. Ownership should enhance identity through avatars and collectibles, not dominate the experience. Wallets, gas, and keys should be invisible. Monetization should follow models gamers already understand. That’s why projects like World of Dypians interest me because it’s a full-scale MMORPG available on the Epic Games Store. Similarly, Web2-native studios like SuperGaming, experimenting with ownership without breaking gameplay, feel far more credible than token-heavy designs. Real Money Gaming often dominates India’s gaming economics, but Web3 gaming cannot afford to repeat that path. Monetization-first design brings trust and regulatory baggage. The opportunity here lies in great games first, with ownership layered thoughtfully and responsibly. If Web3 gaming succeeds in India, I don’t think it will be loud. A game will become popular because it’s fun. Players will care about their avatars and items. Ownership will quietly follow. Most users won’t even realize blockchain is involved. At that point, it won’t be called Web3 gaming. It’ll just be called a better game. What do you think will truly unlock mainstream gaming and digital ownership in India? #startups #blockchain #web3 #crypto #gaming Sumit Gupta Neeraj Khandelwal

Zepto IPO: More Than Just 10-Minute Delivery India's quick-commerce market is growing rapidly, with Zepto, Blinkit, and Swiggy Instamart competing aggressively for market share. Yet, despite the buzz around the industry, quick commerce still accounts for only a small portion of India's overall grocery spending. This suggests that the growth opportunity remains massive. One of the biggest headlines around Zepto is its reported revenue growth of nearly 300%. However, investors should understand that not all of this growth came from an increase in orders. A significant part resulted from a change in accounting treatment. Earlier, if a customer placed a ₹500 order and Zepto earned only ₹70 as its commission, only ₹70 was recorded as revenue. Today, the entire ₹500 order value is recognized as revenue. While reported revenue rises sharply, underlying business growth may not be growing at the same pace. Another important revenue stream is **advertising income**. Brands pay Zepto to display their products on the homepage, search results, and recommendation sections. Think of it as paying for premium shelf space in a supermarket. As customer traffic grows, Zepto's platform becomes more valuable for brands, making advertising a high-margin and potentially significant source of future profits. A major factor that could determine long-term success is **backward integration**. In simple terms, backward integration means reducing dependence on intermediaries and moving closer to the source of products. Instead of buying through multiple distributors and wholesalers, companies source directly from manufacturers or create their own private-label brands. Why does this matter? Imagine a product leaves a factory at ₹100. By the time it passes through distributors, wholesalers, and retailers, the final price may reach ₹140–₹150. Every middleman adds a margin. By removing some of these layers, companies can either improve profitability or offer lower prices to customers. The benefits go beyond cost savings: • Better inventory management and fewer stock-outs. • Greater bargaining power with suppliers. • Improved quality control. • Stronger and more efficient supply chains. • Better resilience during supply disruptions. Another attractive feature of Zepto's business model is its **negative cash conversion cycle**. Customers pay immediately when they place an order, while suppliers are often paid weeks later. This means Zepto receives cash before it has to pay for inventory, reducing working capital requirements and supporting faster growth. The real question for investors is not whether quick commerce will grow—it already is. The key question is which company can build the most efficient supply chain, increase high-margin advertising revenue, and achieve sustainable profitability. In the long run, the winner may not be the company that delivers groceries the fastest, but the one that operates the smartest. Zepto Swiggy Instamart Blinkit Zomato Eternal

India fuels up millions of times every single day. ⛽ Yet fuel station loyalty still feels… complicated. Apps nobody opens. Coupons nobody remembers. QR codes that slow down the line. The problem isn’t intent — it’s friction. That’s where Card-Linked Offers (CLO) quietly change the game. What does CLO actually mean? A customer links their debit or credit card once. After that, every time they refuel at a participating outlet: They pay the same way they always do. Rewards or cashback are credited automatically No app, no scan, no extra steps In short: 👉 Loyalty that works in the background. Why this matters for fuel companies Fuel brands don’t need louder discounts — they need smarter loyalty. CLO enables: 📈 More repeat visits without pushing offers 🛒 Higher spend across fuel + convenience stores 🎯 Targeted campaigns by city, spend, or behavior 🤝 Stronger partnerships with banks & fintech players 📊 Clear attribution and ROI from real transaction data Why do consumers actually like it People want rewards — just not extra effort. With CLO: 💳 They use the card they already trust ⚡ Rewards just show up automatically ✅ No remembering, scanning, or redeeming 🔍 Clear, transparent savings 💬 The future of fuel loyalty isn’t about points. It’s about effortless experiences, automation, and data-driven value. And the best loyalty programs? They don’t interrupt the journey — they disappear into it. #FuelRetail #CardLinkedOffers #CLO #FintechIndia #CustomerExperience #PaymentsInnovation #Loyalty
