Research & Learning: Research Help and Instruction

Research Help

Research + Instruction librarians support research, learning, and creative inquiry across RISD. We can help you explore ideas, find and evaluate sources, develop search strategies, and deepen your research with library tools.

Book a Research Appointment

There are two easy ways to connect with a librarian for research help:

We can help you:

  • Narrow down your research focus and develop questions
  • Find books, articles, images, and other sources
  • Identify useful databases and research tools
  • Develop search strategies and keywords
  • Evaluate and compare sources
  • Connect you to resources outside of RISD, such as local collections and archives
  • Organize your research and citations

Request Library Instruction

Faculty can partner with R+I librarians to design library instruction sessions tailored to their course goals. We recommend reviewing the Library Instruction Teaching Menu in our Faculty Guide to Library Resources before using the booking page to request a class. Reach out to us at researchhelp@risd.edu with any questions!
