Yi Yi Jeong-Eun's solo exhibition Being Zen delves into the relationship between nature and humanity through the lens of Zen philosophy. Central to Zen are ideas of harmony with nature, embracing the present, and the path to self-awareness. Rather than depicting nature as a simple external landscape, Yi Yi Jeong-Eun portrays it as a living, dynamic presence that interacts with and mirrors the human experience. This exhibition features both her vibrant earlier works and new pieces that offer a more introspective take on nature. Together, they invite viewers to explore the deep connection between the natural world and humanity.

Yi Yi Jeong-Eun focuses on translating the primal energy and vitality experienced in nature into an intuitive and synesthetic visual language. Through a deep exploration of materials and a study of colors and textures, she offers viewers an experience akin to facing nature itself. In her works, the technique of layering multiple coats of paint to create matière suggests the appearance of nature from afar, while up close, it evokes the realm of abstraction. This approach provides a unique visual experience that oscillates between these two perspectives.
