Huh incorporates the concept of time into his creations. Ottchil requires several days to simply dry. While submitting himself to the arduous and repetitive nature of his craft, which he approaches as if it were ascetic training, Huh “stacks up layers of time.” He also seeks the traces of time that can be found in his creations after they are completed. In other words, Huh’s art is a reenactment of “the passing years,” using colors forged by time to visualize the many narratives that exist within this block of time.
This exhibition is an invaluable opportunity to see Huh’s visual representations of time and beautiful handicraft objects that are infused with his unique creative methods.
