I wanted to reflect on Al-Kahf (18) and how beautiful it is that Allah started this Ayah reminding us in the 3rd verse that says, "In which they will remain forever," speaking of Jannah...and in verse (Ayah 108), the 3rd verse to the end of the Surah says, "where they will be forever, never desiring anywhere else." So the Surah "ended" the same way it "opened" with Allah reminding us of "The Paradise," or "Jannah," we will be rewarded with. Alhamdulilah

MashaAllah, beautiful observation of how Surah Al-Kahf begins and ends with the promise of living in Jannah forever. A wonderful entry point for deeper reflection is to see the structural symmetries of the Surah; the words of Allah are arranged with perfect wisdom. JazakAllah khair for sharing.

This ayah reminds me of my last reflection on Surah Yunus (10:107): “If Allah wants good for you, no one can withhold it, and what Allah withholds, no one can release." Similarly, provision is in the hand of Allah; He is the provider to all His creation. He pours down the rain so the plants are nourished; from there, people and animals benefit from it. So why are we always stressed about provisions? Is it that our faith is so weak that we think we will gain provision by hustling all the time? Do we really believe that we can sacrifice our prayers and our worship time for the sake of chasing rizq (provision)? What happened to the Hadith of the Prophet (pbuh): “Allah acts according to the expe

I was in the hospital for a long time, surrounded by treatments, injections, and even chemotherapy, yet nothing seemed to work. My condition worsened to the point that I became paralyzed, and the doctors lost hope. I returned home feeling completely helpless. But during that time, I was never alone. My family, my friends, and even people in Madinah raised their hands in dua for me. Those sincere prayers became my strength. Then, by the mercy of Allah, a miracle unfolded. With the same medicines that once seemed useless, I slowly began to recover. Alhamdulillah, I started walking again. This journey changed my heart forever—I realized that medicine is only a means, but true healing comes only

I once had the privilege of meeting an eminent scholar in Egypt. He had travelled from afar to arrive in Egypt. I never thought I would get the chance to meet him in person, and so, as a young and zealous student, I was keen to meet him and seek his counsel.
Feeling almost like paparazzi, I managed to approach him. He was surrounded by other senior scholars and students, all of whom were equally keen on getting his advice or saying salam. I managed to get in, and as I held his aging hand, I asked him, "Shaykh, what advice do you give to students at my stage who have left their homes from afar? What should we be focusing on, and how should we prioritise our learning?” Without hesitation, he

I can never forget this Ayah! I had stopped at Ayah 29 a previous day and then woke up to the sudden death of my sister in law on Eid day. After all the chaos and confusion and Sabr of the whole day, I settled down at night to continue where I had stopped only for me to realize I would be starting this Ayah. The relief and Hamd that followed would remain in my heart till this day! It was the first time I felt the Quran talking to me directly. May Allah have mercy on the soul of Maryam and forgive us our shortcomings. 🤲🏾🤲🏾🤲🏾

Human nature is weirdly strange. We overlook what is always there, until it is not.
Often, the more available you are—the more invisible you become. The more consistent you are—the more expected you become.
We have all lived this. We have all been on the receiving end of doing good yet getting overlooked. We also might have been at the other end too, where we are the ones overlooking.
But look closer at the Scale of the One who made you.
With creation one can move mountains for them and still sit with heavy heart thinking: What do I do wrong to be treated like this?
And with Him: He records, even the weight of an atom (the Dharrah).
Then, how can He ever miss the weight of your

Then look again and again; your sight will return, frustrated and weary. "Al-Mulk 67:4 Allah is commanding us to look at the sky again and again, challenging us to find any rifts or cracks, but indeed our sight comes back tired and humbled; it feels like a gentle invitation to think deeply, not just believe without reflection. The sky is chosen because it’s the largest thing we see every day, filled with stars, the sun rising and setting, and the moon moving in perfect cycles—everything steady, balanced, and never slipping out of place. The sky is something beyond limits; we don't even have any idea where it ends. You look once, then again, then again, almost expecting to find a crack, a ga
...Friday Reflection — Surah al-Kahf (18:1)
It is from the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ to return to Surah al-Kahf on Fridays.
In a time when days unfolded with a quiet rhythm— held together by prayer, gathering, and remembrance— he ﷺ spoke of this recitation as something that carries light:
«مَنْ قَرَأَ سُورَةَ الْكَهْفِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ، أَضَاءَ لَهُ مِنَ النُّورِ مَا بَيْنَ الْجُمُعَتَيْنِ» “Whoever recites Sūrat al-Kahf on Friday will have a light between this Friday and the next.” — reported by al-Ḥakim and al-Bayhaqi (authenticated by a number of scholars)
A light that does not move ahead— but remains, quietly, across the week.
And perhaps there is a reason it is this surah.

...Allah briefly recounts the story of Ayyub in surah al-Anbiya' [21], saying:
And mention Ayyub when he called to his Lord, "Adversity has afflicted me, and You are the most merciful of the merciful ones. * So We responded to Him and removed the adversity that was afflicting him. And We gave him his family and their likes over again as a mercy from Us and as a reminder to the worshipers. [83-84]
Commenting on this last phrase, Imam al-Sa'di wrote:

...This ayah is a good reminder that both good and hardship come from Allah. We will not miss what was meant for us, and no one can provide us with what was not meant for us. We humans confuse our efforts and Allah’s blessings. Our efforts are a guide or a tool from Allah to get us to what Allah wants us to have. We can’t rely only on effort or skills, because the true provider has the ultimate decision-making. Also, sometimes we interpret Allah withholding or delaying something that we wanted as a punishment or test but forget that it could be a blessing from Allah. Allah says, "Perhaps you hate a thing, and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing, and it is bad for you." And Allah kn

There are moments when words come easily— familiar, ready, already formed.
They are spoken, shared, even taught.
أَتَأْمُرُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ بِٱلْبِرِّ وَتَنسَوْنَ أَنفُسَكُمْ وَأَنتُمْ تَتْلُونَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ ۚ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ “Do you command people to righteousness and forget yourselves while you recite the Scripture? Will you not understand?” (2:44)
The words are present— yet they do not always remain.
Then the āyah turns—without elaboration:
وَٱسْتَعِينُوا۟ بِٱلصَّبْرِ وَٱلصَّلَوٰةِ “Seek help through patience and prayer…” (2:45)
Not more speech— a turning.
