Synopsis
Michael Mann's classic crime thriller Heat was released in 1995 and stars Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro as two men on opposite sides of the law whose live become tangled and destabilized in an intense game of cat-and-mouse. When one heist led by master thief Neil McCauley is compromised due to a clue left behind, LAPD Lieutenant Vincent Hanna finds himself obsessed with pursuing them in an ever-escalating war - one that may cause significant collateral damage.

Let's be honest of course the actors are amazing 👏 but the real hero is Mann his in depth grip to real life crime and portrayal of the feds amazing he captures the real true essence of crime and punishment

Not my favorite Michael Mann film but features some of the best actors ever at the top of their game. Worth the price of admission alone. Mann captures male loneliness better than basically anyone I have ever seen. Seeing what drives the two leads is breathtaking and realizing neither one of them will ever stop is unreal.

I don't agree, HEAT is probably the greatest Heist movie ever filmed, it has every thing , its not sluggish or drawn out , it builds in its intensity, the street shootout is probably the best ever caught on camera, every character has their place , no-one just there to fill gaps.. probably one of Manns finest ... along with Manhunter

Michael Mann is one of the best directors in Hollywood. Some of his other films like Collateral might have the edge over this classic, but it is more than just a thrilling action movie. Mann fleshes out the major players, especially DeNiro and Pacino. Like Cruise in Collateral, we understand what drives these characters, and their philosophies. Only a razor-thin line exists between them by the end. This is a must-see for fans of the action/crime drama genres, because it offers more than thrilling action. Like Collateral, it’s also a thinking man’s movie that leaves you with plenty to chew on afterwards. It gets better with each viewing.
