Captain America- Brave New World - Poster
Captain America: Brave New World
7/10

Captain America Brave New World is a very good movie.

Critics are just that "critical".

They have their opinions.

A lot of the time, the critics are just too full of themselves and forget the reason this movie was made.

Entertainment. Transition. Closure.

Sam Wilson as a "poor man's" Sherlock Holmes, did very well as the detective!

Steve Rogers is retired and over 70 yrs old as of the final credits of Endgame.

Finally Betty Ross! Truly the missing element from the previous 10 MCU movies. No more Natasha and Bruce as that always felt wrong to me. Now there's a chance for Bruce and Betty to come back.

Red Hulk was great! The fact that all military service and authorities still try to shoot a Hulk is mind boggling but c'est la vie!

This was fun, moved well, and entertaining. Critics need to get over themselves and just enjoy the film.

Back in Action
9/10

This was a fun ride for the whole family. Were there holes in the script? Maybe. Was it still enjoyable? Definitely.

The (spoiler alert) parents sequences were highly relatable to parents. Although the bar scene was a bit far fetched, but if that was how the writers and director wanted to get the spies back in action, that was their choice. I would have gone into a different direction with that though. And the championship game story line was a bit confusing as it sounded like the game was that day not 3 (?) days later.

Chuck's death and return was somewhat predictable as I thought he was the bad guy from the start. Tip to the writers: when you think it will be a twist it probably isn't or it's likely the "new" formula part of the movie - so many movies have the same "twist', it is now expected.

Andrew Scott's character Baron was well played as it was unclear if he was part of the problem or not. The obsession while funny was a bit much especially since it was only "one date".

Jamie Foxx did well and good to see him back in action after his health scare. Cameron Diaz was good as the mom, but perhaps having not seen her in a movie for so long, something about her features was distracting. Botox (?), a face lift (?), something was just off. Not as bad as some other actors (Mickey Rourke, Meg Ryan, Famke Janssen, & Courtney Cox), but something made it a bit distracting while watching the film.

While the script was a bit weak and predictable, my 9 rating was on the entertainment factor and the issues of family life & parenting. Sometimes you just need a popcorn movie to get away from every day reality. Who doesn't want to be a kick azz spy?

Elementary
7/10

While this was a pleasure to watch and the premise of a Sherlock Holmes in New York City is interesting, I found it dragged on some level. The twists with Watson bring female, portrayed by the incredible Lucy Lui and that Moriarty was also female and both the villain as well as Sherlock's love interest Irene Adler was inspired. However, unlike other fans, I was not grabbed fully by the show. For myself, it seemed too formula & predictable, after a while. I will have to look at reruns or if it is streaming to see if I was just biased by Sherlock but I don't believe so.

Sherlock
10/10

Sherlock brought the Detective in to the 29th Century. The acting was outstanding and the twists to the Conan Doyle stories was not only intriguing but refreshing. Cumberbatch was the perfect Sherlock. Martin Freeman was great as Watson and fleshed his character out more. Not like the bumbling sidekick in the original movies since Watson is a doctor and should be quite intelligent. The rest of the actors were well cast and you could tell they were enjoying their time on the show. The Special was unique and inspiring. Although I have read some people did not enjoy it, if you look at the piece it is well written and directed. Hopefully another season or at least Special will come out soon. Sherlock gave the lead actors a huge jump in their careers. They should set time every few years to show tribute to their fans who along with the show gave them their current success.

Deadpool & Wolverine
10/10

So do I like Deadpool and Wolverine...

Well I waited. I did NOT read any reviews. I did NOT watch any Previews or Promos.

Went. Saw. Laughed. Ooohhhed. Awddd.

Went again. Laughed even more. Loved it.

Loved the comedy. Loved the action. Loved the special appearances. Loved All of the Wolverines...well the short "comic accurate" Wolverine...not so much. Funny but please No!

Favorite chuckle 🤭 and there were lots to choose from:

* Electra's deadpan statement "It's Ok" in response to Deadpool sayin "sorry for Daredevil 's passing" as everyone knows Jennifer Garner (Electra) was married to Ben Affleck (Daredevil) ... Say no more...

Best fight:

* In the Odyssey

Funniest fight:

* vs Sabertooth

As far as the "next" Wolverine actor, it would be more accurate if the actor was actually Canadian! Since Wolverine in the Comicbook is ACTUALLY CANADIAN!

Having said that Hugh Jackman was, is, and always will be the Best Wolverine!

If you have not seen the movie go.

If you have seen it go back and watch the backgrounds! There are so many Easter Eggs!
