With a lot of gratitude, I am deeply honoured to receive the Singapore's Public Sector Transformation Award: Exemplary SkillsFuture Award (ESFA), an award that recognises public officers who embody the spirit of continuous learning and skills upgrading, while helping others grow along the way. This recognition belongs as much to everyone whom have groomed and invested in me in the last 3 years.
Over the past 21 months, shortly after completing my
SMU Master of IT in Business, I joined the newly formed Digital Innovation & Ventures Accelerator (DIVA) in MOE. With a new office came new expectations: to pioneer new ways of building digital products, turn ideas into impact from 0 to 1, and help grow product capabilities across the organisation. It was an incredibly exciting period, but also one of the most demanding. Alongside leading national digital products, building and coaching cross-functional product squads, driving the MOE {build} Hackathon while upskilling myself continuously amidst age of AI. There were many moments that pushed me well outside my comfort zone and looking back, those experiences shaped my resilience, strengthened my judgment, and taught me lessons that no classroom could.
This award means far more to me than individual recognition. It reminds me that the true value of learning isn't measured by the skills we acquire, but by the culture of curiosity, humility, and growth we help foster.
I like to thank 3 groups of people:
1. To my DXD leaders
Jason See and
Luke Goh, thank you for believing in my potential, trusting me with meaningful opportunities, and continually stretching me beyond my comfort zone. Your guidance has shaped both my growth and the way I approach innovation. Also credits to my SPSD/CSB leaders - Olivia and
Augustine Mah for all the great wisdom earlier.
2. To my teammates and colleagues across MOE, our partner divisions and GovTech, thank you for your partnership, encouragement, and countless conversations. So much of what I have learnt has come not from courses, but from working alongside all of you.
