Software Engineering Daily
Software Engineering Daily has covered software engineering and technology since 2015, with a focus on technical depth, clarity, and making complex topics approachable. We believe that many of the most important stories today sit at the intersection of engineering, technology, and the wider world.
We are looking for writers who can cover one of two distinct areas. The first is technical reporting on software engineering, AI, programming languages, infrastructure, and the tools and practices shaping how software is built. The second is broader technology journalism covering how technology is reshaping the world, including topics like drone warfare, digital privacy, automation and the future of work, digital privacy, surveillance, financial technology, and the geopolitics of semiconductors and AI. In both cases, we value clear writing, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to make complex subjects accessible and engaging.
How to Apply
Send us two or three writing samples that best represent your work. These can be published articles, blog posts, newsletter issues, or unpublished pieces. The samples should demonstrate your voice, range, and ability to communicate clearly. Please also include a brief note about your background, the topics you are most interested in covering, and your LinkedIn profile or personal website.
When reviewing applications, we pay attention to clarity, style, objectivity, and editorial judgment. Your samples should give us confidence that you can write substantively about challenging topics in a way that informs and engages our audience.
