Alka Kumar

I am a postdoctoral research fellow, working in migration-with a background and prior experience in Literary Studies, as well as more recent doctoral work in interdisciplinary Social Sciences, specifically Peace and Conflict Studies, with focus on employment integration in relation to experiences of racialised skilled immigrants in Canada.

Most recently, through my ongoing projects with CERC I have been exploring alternative methods of knowledge production in migration studies, with specific focus on storytelling and narrative strategies, arts-based approaches, as well as creative and participatory practices to help individuals process their lived experiences of migration and integration.
