I have published extensively on issues of cultural representation, identity and nation in African and African diasporic screen media, and have curated film, television and digital media exhibitions for galleries across Canada. I am the author of Contact Zones: Memory, Origin and Discourses in Black Diasporic Cinema, (2008) and Habiba Djahnine: Memory Bearer (2025). I am the editor of African Film Festivals and Transnational Flows of Living Cultural Heritage (2025) and co-editor of the Directory of World Cinema: Africa (2015). I have a forthcoming book on Moroccan Amazigh Cinema and Cultural Heritage. My current research focuses on African and Maghrebi cinemas and "The March For Equality and Against Racism in France - 1983".
